The sales are still pathetic in my eyes seeing as how the system had a price cut while releasing a big AAA title. Really, Tbone51 ? Are you seriously gonna compare the WII U to other dying platforms ?! |
Are you an economy analist by the way ?
Your eyes is one thing. The market reality is another different thing. 48 k for one week in Japan is good enough, even if it is just a temporary rise. Hardly a home console sells more than 25k in any given week in Japan. And WiiU DIDN´T have a price cut in Japan.
You should look for something else to flame your rage. Let people enjoy their games and their brands.

Can anyone here get over my comment.
It's just one dude over the internet.

I think the reason so many people got mad is because this is a site dedicated to monitoring and analysing game sales data, and if you've been following the Japanese numbers lately, 48k is pretty huge.
1.) Declining home console interest in Japan.
2.) Wii U has been struggling since launch.
3.) Only one new game released this week and it's an expansion pack to a game not exclusive to Wii U.
4.) Japan is no where near is big into Xmas shopping as the western world.
5.) Except for 3DS, it's ahead of every other console by a large margin this week.
Doesn't matter what your console of choice is. Any logical person can see Wii U done good this week in Japan.
Very good Wii U numbers, no matter in which relation you bear it to. For me Wii U just proved, that it's not dead in Japan and can have a good future with all the titles already out there and coming. In case of need, Nintendo can still cut its price.
Why do people still waste time with fatslob? You should all be on to his shtick by now.
There are a few people on this site that are just best ignored.
Dragon Quest seems to cause bigger Wii U spikes than Mario. Mario kinda just sells over time, DQ brings in a different audience, so it causes more pronunced spikes.
DQX in March also boosted Wii U sales from 10k to 22k, which is one of the bigger Wii U spikes of the year.
It's too bad it's an online game, the impact would be even far greater if it was a more traditional DQ game.
On the plus side DQX Version 3 will probably slide in next year.

1. That's an excuse not a reason. People think dedicated handhelds will die but that is simply false because a dedicated handheld provides unique experiences.
2. Poor management will do just that.
3. It's a game that was largely irrelevant to begin with.
Fine the WII U did decent this week now will people get over it ?
Take a look at my sig FYI.
