Another Artist Creates Realistic Versions Of Pokemon

Last week, we covered RJ Palmer's realistic version of the Pokemon Meganium. Now Japanese computer graphics artist Yuuki Morita has created beautiful and scary reimaginings of Venasaur, Charizard, and Blastoise.

In the posters below, the final evolution of the starters from the original Pokemon games look like they can be in a movie or next-gen systems. Personally, I think this version of Blastoise is incredibly creepy.

Pokemon MMO that looks like that and the wiiu will fly of the shelves

The Blastoise picture looks amazing.

           Survivor Millennial vs Gen X!!

But that no longer looks like pokemon they also look kinda stupid.

While I think HD Pokémon would be awesome. those are to realistic and just don't look like Pokemon to me

Around the Network

I don't think this will end up turning into anything.

Wanting pokemon to look like that is like wanting Mario to look like this.

Those aren't pokémon.

Pokémon has a certain design to them based on manga and anime that makes them look cute despite sometimes beeing creepy.

This art would not appeal to the same target as regular pokémon does. This would aim the game at a difference audience, an audience that problably doesnt want to play pokémon in the first place.

With that said, i wouldnt mind seeing a sub-series take this spin and see how its received. It would have to be a more cinematic game than the series currently is... and it would be very difficult to pull off cause the combat couldnt be turn based anymore. It would have to be real time.

Its hard to believe how much graphics can ruin a franchise... I hope pokemon never goes down this route
