Forums - Sales Discussion - 3DS sales has its second highest week sales ever in Europe, highest in NA

And that's only for the last week of November, it's set to smash that the next few weeks! Now the thing is though I'm not so sure if these numbers are overtracked as I've had a hunch 3DS is being overtracked in Europe for a while. It's pretty impressive though that it beat the 3DS European launch numbers so early into the holiday season, and is set to beat its highest weekly sales ever over the next 3 weeks (which was 344k, current week 338k).

Of course the 3DS has already set its highest weeky in the last BF, which was set in 2011 at 495k, and beat that by over 200k (720k for the week). Even if these numbers were overtracked, it would take a huuuge error by VGC to get it below that number.

I know I'm a bit late commenting on this but I thought it was interesting to show how this console has been doing in the West this holiday season and for me it's well deserved. I think it shows that the 2013 lineup and the 2DS have really gained this handheld a lot of momentum towards 2014, and it's very refreshing to see that after most of us thought that handhelds were doomed this gen.

I'll just post the current numbers and the previous highest weeks:

Damn the 3DS is doing well. Hopefully the games keep coming next year

Wait, what? Is 3DS doing BETTER in EU than it is in US??

On average yes it is. France, Germany and Spain really love Nintendo handhelds! Holidays though tend to be much more important to the US and you can see how huge BF's influence is on console sales. It's sold around 20-25% of it's annual sales just that week.

Damn, didn't think certain parts of EU were that into handhelds... Cool thing though! How's the situation in the rest of the EU?

Yeah, holidays are really important to Nintendo - and maybe more so in the States, I've come to understand. BF is a HUGE deal over there.

UK is solid but not crazy, rest I think is not great besides Belgium, Switzerland and Netherlands. Biggest Nintendo country in Europe is by far France.

Cool! So it kinda goes France, Germany, Spain, UK, Belgium, Switz, Netherlands then? And after that Scandinavia and the rest?

I'm guessing. Uk is as big as France though and bigger than Germany in terms of unit sales, but with respect to other console sales it's not. It still pulls decent numbers but no where near DS levels.

marked, this thread will see some updates next few weeks:D

Damn... Doing better than NA. No wonder EU's getting faster releases than NoA. Step it up NA!
