Former Tomb Raider creative director Tim Longo has been hired by Microsoft studio 343 Industries to work on the next Halo game, it has emerged.
The move is reflected by Longo's LinkedIn account, which specifies that he is working as a creative director at 343 Industries, which is currently producing Halo 5.
Longo joined Crystal Dynamics in 2006 and worked at the studio for around five years, and is believed to have contributed to the Tomb Raider reboot before departing in 2011. During the production phase of the Square Enix-funded reboot, Crystal Dynamics' Noah Hughes worked as its creative director.
In 2011, Longo moved to LucasArts to work on an unannounced first-person Star Wars shooter, before the company was purchased by Disney a year later and closed down in April 2013. Longo joined 343 Industries soon afterwards.
Meanwhile, former Halo creative director Josh Holmes has been promoted to the role of executive producer.
Unveiled at E3 2013, Halo 5 will be the second mainline game in the series developed by 343 Industries.
Scheduled for a 2014 release, the new instalment will be enhanced by cloud computing and will run at a "blistering 60 frames per second," according to a studio spokesperson.
Asked why Halo 5 was not a launch title for the Xbox One, Microsoft Studios boss Phil Spencer said last in October that the studio opted to develop Halo 4 for the Xbox 360 instead.
Over at Crystal Dynamics, a next-gen Tomb Raider is currently in development, as well as a 'Definitive Edition' of this year's reboot which will bundle all DLC and feature a graphical upgrade.
