Forums - Nintendo - 3DS NNID and Club Nintendo - family account issues

DAMN

So I have a Wii U and my two boys each have a 3DS XL. We all have had NNIDs since the Wii U launch.

I've always had all three systems tied to my original Club Nintendo account.

After today's 3DS update, I help them link their existing NNIDs to their 3DSs. In the warnings it stated that only ONE NNID can be connected to ONE Club Nintendo account.

However, that makes no damn sense as these are family accounts and my kids shit is all bought by me.

I did notice Club Nintendo allows you to create sub CN accounts off of your main CN account. I created each of them a sub account and still no joy. I go to link them to that account and bam, denied with a generic non-descriptive error.

I'll have to write Nintendo an email to see what's up. Anyone else have a solution beyond creating three fully distinct CN accounts?

Can't wait till the day Nintendo realizes that their account system is stupid but I will be testing this soon

Thanks for the info! I have 2 3DS's and WiiU too, so i think I will wait with creating NNID on 3DS's until this issue will be more clear.

Be careful which region and country you set your console since that NNID information cannot be changed afterwards by yourself, but only by contacting customer service.

And by all means, don't ever delete your NNID... if you do that it is gone forever, shredded to million pieces and lost in Nintendo's server.

This is really bad that still nintendo cannot provide a good account system.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

This is really unrelated to an account system. NNID is the account system and while that isn't perfected yet, last night's update was the first step in moving it towards a normal digital account. Hence why it is now on all of Nintendo's current systems and removed the limit on the number of times you can transfer your 3DS content to a new 3DS.

My gripe is with their REWARD system. I feel I should be able to tie multple NNIDs and thus their digital purchases to a single account, especially considering they already have a family account system in place.

Now, I'm worried. My daughter and I both have 3DS systems and I buy everything. I hope we don't run into any issues.

Nintendo doesn't want families to just buy once and share it between 2-3 consoles. They prefer if you buy them individually on everyone of them :P

I'm also waiting for a single NNID to work on two WiiU's before I even think about going digital.

That's fine for Wii U since multiple people will use a single console.  I wish they'd find a way to let me and my daughter share digital 3DS games.  Nobody wants to share their portable.  I want to play some of the games I bought her but I don't wanna buy them twice!

ok, so this is a bit different than what I was asking about in my post, but kinda along the same line.

I'm totally stoked about the 3DS having miiverse and a unified account with the "U", but I want more than one 3DS to use the same NNID account and all my info to be the same on both 3DS units, so I can use them interchangeably.
