Not suprising, Xbone is too expensive.

That's besides the point. If your logic was correct the WiiU would've sold much better or the PS3 wouldn't have catched up to the 360.

That's beside the point. Nintendo has several issues with WiiU, they lost a lot of core gamers in the past generations and casuals don't see much of a difference in Wii and WiiU. And PS3 catched up in Europe, not in US. Europe was, is and will ever be Playstation territory, perhaps beside UK. Leave aside that many sales also came from Japan, where 360 is close to non-existant - so much for the catch-up.

Who says the Xbone doesn't have issues as well then? You are quick to point to the price being the differentiator, but you don't know that. Also the Playstation being more popular in Europe has nothing to do with price. Again you are pointing to the price solely, which has nothing to do geography,

Of course there is a relation. Would people spend much money for something they don't know or like? Of course not. PS3 had good sales also right from the start. Not fantastic but still quite good, because people know Sony and didn't really care for the price. 360 sold especially because of price advantage. Other points are just opinions, one could also argue PS4 has problems (which they really have).

I don't say it's *only* price but it is defintely a heavy advantage.

This is an argument i can't really disagree with!

Price plays it's part, and a big part it is. I'm just under the impression that Microsoft suffering from their policies, pre the 180 and that they could've done somewhat better if that wasn't the case. Which for example is why i don't expect the Xbone sales to begin matching the PS4 ones, were Microsoft to reduce the price a couple of months from now.

Oups, worst in fact.

So, XOne sould 500k first week in US and 500K WW? And then at Black Friday only 250K?

He didn't splited the number but seems like ~500k week 1 + ~250k week 2 in US.

WW is 500k US + 66k AUS + 150k UK + 10 others countries (Canada, France, Germany, Brasil, etc)... if you have 200k in the others 10 countries then that puts the numbers over 900k WW first week.

Yeap... 500-600k week 1 in US is inline with MS "1 million".

patcher number are rarely all that close...

i expect, at least with the ps4, VGCz numbers are close. that 2.1M announcement pretty much locks in the numbers pretty tight. ioi has all the info he needs to have get pretty damn good tracking on that.

xbone,.. not so sure. less info and really hard to tell. NPD will be interesting. if patchers numbers are even close xbone had a much worse black friday than we predicted.

NPD this week?

Well VGC have 300k in US for Xbone... seems a bit high but I think the first weeks is a little high too (~100k).

The issus will be that NPD tracks the two weeks combined so we won't know if the numbers are right or wrong for the separeted weeks but only for the sum of two.

Another day, another guesstimate!

It is near the end of the end....

So, Xbox did much, much better in other markets... and that does not look to be the case of continental Europe.

Any way, if the Pachter number are acurated, the situation of gaming as a whole is dire in the USA.
