Forums - Sales - UK Sales: Mario still being outsold by Knack, GT6 launch sales just a fifth of GT5

I have seen zero advertising for GT6, no in store posters, nothing.Maybe Sony will learn some day that marketing sells games, people nowadays don't know what to buy anymore unless they're told... It's the worst time to launch it too.

It might pick up steam in the second week, the review embargo didn't help either.

There is GT adverts on the TV and gaming websites.

Not a big deal. Mario 3d World will sell for a long time worldwide. Knack will soon be forgotten

this, and GT6 sales are not a surprise, it's a franchise in decline

GT5 sold more or less like a normal GT does, so I don't see how the franchise is in decline. GT6 just released at a very inconvenient time with very little marketing push from Sony, at least from what I've seen. The game will still sell a couple million and will still make Sony money.

Exactly the game released during a console transition, while more gamers are focused on upgrading their Xbox 360's and PS3's. Which means the need to save money and avoid 7th generation transactions. The game will still sell admirably though last year would have been ideal for it.

Just look at CoD, Battlefield and Assassins Creed essentially all 3 games have performed much worse then the prior iteration 1/2 and even 1/3 of BO2, BF3 and AC3.

It's a console transition it's to be expected.

Those games had next gen versions that people were waiting for. And even if we ignore that fact there is a massive difference between 1/2, 1/3 and 1/5. This decline is too big to be only because of nextgen hype.

Lmao I wish Knack fanboys would just admit that the game sold bad and stop trying to damage control by pointing to the fact it outsold mario when both sold really bad in the U.K., its utter desperation.

He copied and pasted it from the article to be fair, so maybe you should have a go at Eurogamer rather than people on this forum.

I do hope we stop hearing about it soon though.  Knack is outselling 3DW every week and I'm sure 3DW will have better legs.  There's nothing else to be said.

That wasn't aimed at him or anybody here in partucilar. Just pointing out that Fans of Knack are shouting fire in a crowded theatre to try to make everyone look away from the fact the game got bad reviews by carrying on with this. Yes, I hope it goes away soon too.

bravely default bombed ;(

Now you mention it... it's like... 7th in the 3DS chart! And all those people who were saying it's the new FF and stuff...

I knew it was, we got like 70 copies for our entire countries eb stores.

Anyways GT6 bombing was expected, It looks like a patched GT5. It'll do no more than 6 million LTD which is still great.

And those 3rd party games still they haven't sold as well as their predecessors by a large margin.

I don't get why people are trying to twist the fact that Mario is selling a lot better than Knack by saying Knack is barely outselling Mario in UK.
Seriously, if this is all the Sony fans can think of, they shouldn't even be trying.

Should have been a PS4 game.

Because this is a UK chart, and knack is indeed outselling mario in the uk.

Again, doesn't change the fact that 1/2 is much much less than 1/5.

People were saying Cod's drop signified a huge decline.

Meanwhile in the UK GT6 launch sales are lower than launch sales of the 360 versions of Battlefield 4 and Assassin's Creed 4, and the PS3 version of Assassin's Creed 4, which actually have next gen versions people are waiting for, and are historically much smaller franchises than GT, and people are trying to say this drop is normal.

And I really didn't think I would have to point out that people who are planning on upgrading their consoles soon, are likely to wait to get these games. On the other hand anyone who wants GT6 has no reason to wait because it is a ps3 only title.

Yes PS4 launch hurt the game's sales. But the drop is way too massive for that to be the only factor.
