Zelda U will release the Friday or Sunday before Black Friday in November 2015. Calling it now. It COULD appear or be teased in a big Nintendo Direct early next year, but most likely it will be shown at E3 2014...they'll say, "we would like to take a little more time to make sure it's ready...please understand this situation." It will reappear at E3 2015 and finally get a Holiday 2015 release window. Like others have said, they have plenty of high-quality exclusives slated for 2014 already.

It will be one of their worst mistakes for this console. Unless they replace this game as the big holiday 2014 delaying SSB. Or what do you expect them to release off next holidays?

I DO expect Smash Bros. to be the big November Holiday 2014 title actually. Nintendo has NEVER given any indication that Smash Bros. would come in the first half of the year. And I honestly feel like in Nintendo's mind...Mario Kart 8 (arguably the Wii U's single biggest potential "system seller" in the long run) releasing in "spring" (ie. March or April most likely) makes them think once that's out, they can afford to have a month or 2 without any other major games leading up to E3. Obviously I hope that's not the case, but I could see Nintendo thinking that way. So that would then leave Smash Bros., Monolith Soft's "X," and Yarn Yoshi as the most likely fall/holiday lineup. Bayonetta 2 is a mystery at this point as it could realistically fall in the first half OR the 2nd half of the year, and depending on Platinum's projections, could determine when Nintendo releases some of their own games. Either way though, while as a HUGE Zelda fanboy I would LOVE to believe they could have a Zelda ready for Holiday 2014, I don't expect that to happen in the slightest.

Upcoming Games To Get

Definite: Kirby Star Allies (Switch), Mario Tennis Aces (Switch), Fire Emblem (Switch), Yoshi (Switch), Pokemon (Switch), Kingdom Hearts 3 (PS4), Monster Hunter World (PS4)

Considering: Fe (Switch), Donkey Kong Country Tropical Freeze (Switch), The World Ends With You (Switch), Ys VIII (Switch), Street Fighter V: Arcade Edition (PS4), Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Remix (PS4), The Last Guardian (PS4), Shadow of the Colossus HD (PS4), Anthem (PS4), Shenmue 3 (PS4), WiLD (PS4)

There is no way in hell that Ninty will reveal ZeldaU at E3 and announce that it's launching 6months later. It will launch at 2015 at the earliest.

skyward sword was announced in 2010, 1.5 years before release. just like zelda U could be shown this year and will probably release in 2014. it's also interesting to see people thinking this is a holiday title only. as in: if it doesn't release in 2014 holiday, it will only release in 2015 holidays. no sense.

Teased at E3 2009.

Tbf, that teaser proves his older post. Ss initial artstyle is different to the final one, plus the motion plus implementation.

Also, TP was showed at E3 2004 and planned for release at holiday 2005, but delayed for the Wii launch. Let's also remember TWW 2001 reveal and release at holiday 2002 in Japan. If they have something to show already, it is more than likely it will release soon.

If they choose to keep it in the shadows for now it's because ALBW and WWHD.

I'm expecting another hd remake for 2016, most likely TP.

Proud to be the first cool Nintendo fan ever

Number ONE Zelda fan in the Universe

DKCTF didn't move consoles

Prediction: No Zelda HD for Wii U, quietly moved to the succesor

Predictions for Nintendo NX and Mobile

As much I'd love a new Zelda next year, you are most certainly right!

With DK, Mario Kart 8 and Smash all in one year, it wouldn't be smart to shoot off all their big guns right away.

there's nothing stoping them from doing so. but E3 isn't the only option for a reveal since they can make directs anytime now.

So? If you want to be technical, Zelda Wii U was announced 11 months ago. Yet this picture shown at E3 2009 is more than we've seen of the currently-in-development title.

the game was first SHOWN = ANNOUNCED in 2010. a concept art is nothing. if zelda U could be shown at E3 this year, it will most likely release in 2014.

Shown and announced are not the same thing. Just ask Uncharted fans. Skyward Sword was first shown in 2010, but it was actually announced in 2008. What happened at E3 2009 can only be described as a tease -- a suggestion of a reveal, a first look. Zelda U has been neither shown nor teased -- we have seen no part of it. It has been announced, and discussed in some detail. The amount of detail with which it has been discussed leads me to believe that Nintendo is closer to completion than they were with Skyward Sword in June 2009. They have simply chosen not to show us anything yet.

There's no way to know how far along the game actually is, because we have no clue what they were going to show us at E3 this year. What if they were only going to show us a couple of pictures, as they did with Skyward Sword in 2009?
