MS OS taking a dump on memory? Quite normal.

Thank's for the bump...

Any reports of the patch helping out?

I somini still hard at work trying to make "informative" negative post about old news that has been already reported among the Xbox community if you were remotely interested by the console...

@puppyroach yeah I boot from standby in 7 second and cold boot in less than 15 and that's including entering the password... And that"s when I turn it off to save battery on trips... Otherwise it is never shut down or even in standby for months... The only thing causing issues is Facebook after being open for days in IE with more than 20 other tabs on several windows at any given time which fixes itself by killing the browser in the worst cases... I basically reboot for updates... Win 7 never equaled win 8 performance for me

Has the cold boot time decreased since release?

nope timed it in the train yesterday....

the standby one seems to fluctuate depending on how much shit I have open sometimes...

but always between 5 and 10 sec

Did the update work?

My coworker had this issue. He thought his system was about to brick.

Nice, the OP had me worried, but the flood of people without issues soothed my nerves.

It´s Memory Leak, not Memory Dump.

Memory Dump (or Core Dump) is a crash situation when a whole process is interupted at once.

The real complication is that when you tried to fix a Memory Leak you could cause a Memory Dump.

THANK YOU!!!  My pedantic twitch was going crazy.

People who don't know technical terms shouldn't use them.

Not to mention that the first system update was released the day this article came out.

I guess the day one patch may have solved some of the possible reasons, but it could take longer and a larger user base to solve most of them. Although I couldn't miss the opportunity for a joke, I guess it's quite normal on new consoles, with their OS' becoming bigger and bigger and offering more and more extra features. Also, compared to freezes and crashes that desktop Windows can suffer from in such cases, XBOne behaviour is more stable, a slowdown is still better than a freeze or a crash.

Oh Microsoft released the first real XBONE patch the other day listing OS stability as one of the key features.

I did like your joke though :)
