When I think of backwards compatibility... I think of... me having all these games and being able to play them on the next gen with ease... Sony's thinking of backwards compatibility us... I have all these psp games... Well I am gonna have to rebuy all these psp games to play it on the vita... It is dumb/stupid/retarded and another reason why I sold my vita... Also the memory cards are expensive as fuck... What ever Sony's plan was for the vita, it clearly to make it the best handheld ever... Least their plan for the ps4 isn't to suck

If you want a Vita with a UMD drive, be my guest.

I want a Vita with either an accessory that can play UMD via USB/Cable or A discount on the games that I have purchased like they did for many games in Japan... Not even a single game was discounted on any other place other than Japan

But even with discount, most PSP games in the Japanese PSN were still more expensive than the undiscounted PSP games in the European or American PSN.

The best option is to wait for PSN sales. I sold the retail versions of LocoRoco 1 + 2 a few years ago for 20 € each, got the download versions last year for under 4 € each. Sold a few other UMD versions for 10 - 20 € and bought the download versions later for 2 - 6 € each.

Even last week, I got 5 € each for R&C Size Matters, GoW Chains of Olympus and MediEvil Resurrection... and paid 3 - 4 € each for the download version.

Why do people refer to the Vita as being "Backwards compatible"? It really isn't. Sony offering you to buy games you already own on their shop isn't Backwards compatibility...

Screw them, I'll play the old PSP games in 1080p on my PC instead :/

I haven't even made it past the first paragraph yet and I have to say BULLSHIT on the browser! It's decent but not znything I'd call good.

I went 90% digital when I got my PSP 3000 so.....backwards compatible.  In fact, I have the games on two PSP's and the Vita (the ones that work on Vita--still no Metal Gear, Syphon Filter, etc).

And yeah, I know you can only have digital games on two devices.  I called Sony and said my PSP was stolen so they deactivated it. Lying FTW!

Is this retaliation for being kicked out of the Vita thread?

Only one of those points you made has any credit, the shoulder buttons really do suck.

Wrong!

... the lack of video support is also annoying.  Not all that important, true, but annoying.

The Vita is one of the sturdiest pieces of mobile hardware in the market. That point is absolutely ridiculous.
Search vita drop test on youtube and you will see.

You are lying. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gvJWXvAEcxQ

First time I see him breaking a device as easily as that, and he wasn't even trying. The Vita broke at the three first light hits.

"

Mortal Combat, Street Fighter vs. Tekken, Injustice, The Amazing Spider Man, Borderlands 2, Dead or Alive 5, Sly 4, PS All-stars, Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and the list goes on. All PS3 ports. Who said it can't run PS3 ports?
"

Of all the game you've listed, only Amazing spiderman push the PS3 hardware a little. And the Vita version is a crappy port of it. Rest of the game are all fighting games, and we all know they're not that demanding ressource wise. Plus only DOA5 and UMVC3 are good port, the reste is quite forgetable.

And the last thing about this game is : Handheld are not suited for fighting games. Just go to shoryuken forums and tell them about it, you'll see what they think of it.

I've not been kick out, sorry.

What's the point of this thread? do you wish that Vita should be buired and nobody should buy it? You did not find Vita useful becaues of your tastes but there many people who like the features that Vita provides and really enjoy them than everything and I'm one of the them.

If you don't like Vita about something then keep it yourself and don't say that is really bad in some ways and everybody should agree because this hurts people buying Vita and make the device to be hurted even more. Every device has their pros and cons and cannot be made perfect. If you have something good then share it  and if it has something horrible that everybody should consider then share it but not like this kind of things you have explained in the post.

There is a saying, if you can't help someone then atleast not to try to hurt them.

PS: Sorry, if offended you which i did not mean and its just that i really disappointed that people see this device in wrong and ask everyone to listen/see.

GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

ps1 and ps2 have no gamez. i'm sure if we constantly repeat it people are stupid enough to actually belive it.

I love my Vita but I really wish they would smooth out the backwards compatibility issue with PS1 and PSP games. They could have had some program for PSP owners to register their UMDs to get them on the vita or something. Or even a UMD drive accessory that attaches to the back of the device and uses the top expansion port so I can play Crisis Core on the Vita. It's weird that you can't play all PS1 games either, I'm guessing there are security risks in the games.

Having to re-buy games that I already own is a pain, unless I can get them for cheap.

No security risks. You can't just throw every PS1 game on PSN, it's up to the publishers, assuming the publishers still exist.

No Crisis Core on PSN is a huge shame, it's an incredible game.
