But that doesn't happen all the time. Tales games do 3-5x the numbers they do in the States. DQ does more in Japan than here. There are plenty of examples showing that.

Have to agree with this one. While I might have enjoyed the first game, it was not even my favorite JRPG of this year let alone of the generation.
I would get the second one tho, no question about that.
I hope it will be better than the first.

That isn't my point. My point is why would Sony use one of their big announcements at VGX for a JRPG that is far from a system seller? It'll end up being another Gamescom, using a big stage for small announcements.
