Well I read the IGN review, and it just sums it up that the series just isn't changing with the times. Offcourse the 70's meta won't change the opinions of the fans....some here are really being defensive. GT sells based on its brand, its franchise history. It doesn't sell based on raw quality, not anymore. With the metas of GT5 and now 6, compared to the metas and sales of Forza 3 and 4, this isn't trolling and more so a look at the times we now live in.
But overall the huge roster of cars (some almost identical) stems from the 90's and early 2000's, that is disconcerting. I think they should do what Turn 10 did with Forza 5 and start from scratch with newer cars mostly, as the older cars still show their age. Looks like the sound and damage is less then desirable,
They did do great on the tracks, handling, day/night, weather, and multiplayer.
Overall, the meta is justified. PD is great at making sims, but they aren't that great video game developers anymore. Too much relying on those decade+ car models and not enough game/community features that makes a great video game along with a great sim.
