Forums - General - What's the definition of a TRUE fanboy?

Someone who has their console keep breaking on them but still supports the people making them.

Around the Network

IMO

Fan - someone passionate about a company/product, can see and call out faults when they're there.
Blind Fan - someone passionate about a company/product but will refuse to see any bad/negatives.
Fanboy - Same as above but will trash the competition.

Yes, fanboys do exist, but it is also a convenient term to throw around when you don't like someone's argument. Can't refute his point? Call him a fanboy, and have a good night's rest.

For me, at least on this site its people who show up in the same threads trying to derail them. I can think of at least two people who consistently show up on nintendo threads a lot.

Funny enough I encounter them quite often, and they're mostly in my camp. lol I call it as I see it. If any company is screwing up then I'll bash them - including the company behind my preferred platforms. I'm a consumer before a company enthusiast. Corporate slaves need to realize if they don't speak up when a company is erring they'll be negatively affected in the end.

Playstation = The Beast from the East

Sony + Nintendo = WIN! PS3 + PSV + PS4 + Wii U + 3DS

A fanboy is someone who is intellectually dishonest, attempts to move the goalposts and tries to alter history.

Purely as an example:

Nintendo fanboys downplaying Nintendo's reliance on 3rd party support.

PlayStation fanboys suddenly caring about having the most powerful hardware with the PS3/4.

360 fanboys pretending online gaming didn't matter until last gen.

I think most people have it spot on. The two qualities that make a fanboy are blind love for their system/game/developer/whatever of choice, and a hate for all others. Both can be obnoxious, but especially the second part.

There are lots of fanboys on here, and what's funny is some aren't able to see that they, themselves, are some of the worst culprits.

We could start a Jeff Foxworthy type thread of what fanboys say. Actually, I think I will...

You have to remember that a defected console.is not really the companies fault. It's not like they wanted it to happen. It's just something that randomly went wrong at the factory
