Today we have Sony and Nintendo from Japan and Microsoft from the USA that makes our home and handheld gaming consoles. So what I have been thinking of is if there are any market for one or more corporations in this market.

Before we had a try from the Dutch company Philips, which did not work out too well. But other than that the European market has not seen any new gaming console being born.

And if we look at Asia we have South Korea and China which are two big markets with IT companies, but we are yet to see them enter the gaming(console) world.

So my question is if you would like to see a new gaming console(handheld or stationary) from for example Lenovo(China), Samsung(South Korea), Siemens(Germany) or Philips(Netherlands).

The more competition the better. I'd love to see a European console, just to see what it's like.

Myself I would love to see a gaming console from both Europe and China. In my opinion the handheld market is widely open with just two systems, the 3DS and PSV. Could easily be at least one more.

One could argue that the stationary market is full at the moment with three companies producing home consoles and with the PC market there also. But I agree with Vikki, it would be nice to see some more and different competition. Today it's more or less USA and Japan, it would be nice to see Europe and China/Korea enter this market too(more).

3 is more than enough, to be honest

If the console has physical releases than yes, as long as it's in English/French/German/Chinese/Spanish/Greek/Japanese. Granted, anything other than my English and French is terrible, but playing Chinese games would be a nice way to learn it.

3 is already too much...

Is one of the big three left the market, I would like to see a European console.

Japan is part of Asia so i vote for Europe.

I would argue that with the rise of PC and $1 iphone/andoid games I actually think 3 is too many (let alone 4 once Steambox arrives). If we get to 5 or more I think that the companies will be stretched so thin in terms of install base that it won't be profitable and somebody will go under. I'm a Nintendo fanboy but I have to admit that it only makes sense for two of the big three to unite with another one in order to be able to resist Apple/Andoir/Steam.

As interesting as it might be, 3 is already too much imo. Maybe if either Nintendo, Sony or Microsoft eventually dropped out of the console industry.
