Forums - Microsoft - Should I go all digital??

I'll go against everybody else... I can't wait to go all digital.... I want to be able to swap games and take advantage of all, options that WILL come in the future... I don't care about used game like say price drops online too and you have amazing deals all the time... And last but not least I can't stand physical media especially on such ridiculously obsolete and unecological data storage as blu ray or disc based storage in general... And the clutter they creat for no reason...

I don't see any reason to keep going with physical discs in the 21st century unless you are a collector or buy lots of used games months or years after launch and even then I found way better deals on weekly sales than used most of the time...

to me discs games are to video game what are vinyls to all music only better in some backward minds and collectors

I won't until there is a price difference to make it worthwhile. Buying a disc gives you the option to trade in games you don't like and don't think you'll play again. You can then take a chance on games you're not sure about. Never buying a used game ever is not an option I'm going to commit to. Show me the digital discounts first.

That's what renting games is for.

So far I'm all digital but like mentioned. no point in going all digital. when games get older the disk prices will get lower than the digital price will ever go. so a mix up is practical. I am going mostly digital though. for all games that I want when they release I am getting the digital versions.

^Yes that's me ripping it up in the GIF. :)

you can return a physical game for a full refund

price is the same or often times favors physical

idk how it works when installing digital though if it will start the game right away, i do get going to all digital b/c you can access the game much faster, it will be less clutter i got all these physical games im ocd aswell and i keep the cases and manuals after all these gens they do take up some room. i wont go digital unless its like steam i want cheaper prices and sales and faster price drops. most of the time when new games get release with in the first month stores have sales of $10 off, and on BF not to old of a release tlou on ps3 was $25 COD ghost and other recently released games were $40 on BF

No because of trade in/resell value of games. My PS4? Completely paid for by Gamestop store credit.

so to fly in the face of everyone else...

i'm going all digital (ps4) and here's why:

A) i never sell my games back. not my bag. so that con doesn't really bother me.
B) ..which is in part because i don't need the money. a few bucks extra here and there (as digital generally won't beat brick and mortor prices) doesn't really bother me either. (the other big con)
C) i like the idea of not having to disc swap
D) i like the idea of being able to share my library with my friend in wisconsin (we share account info).
E) i like the idea of being able to take my games to non console devices when gaikai launches.
F) i like the idea that i don't have the clutter in my house from my disc based games library.
G) my internet doesn't suck

soo... digital isn't for everyone. honestly, digital isn't right for even close to the majority right now. but then, bowie was always a trend setter.

No.

murph? Thanks for the helpful advice.  There's not a rental shop anywhere around here.  I haven't rented since Blockbuster died.  When I did it was $10 for a week or $30 a month.  I recently bought AC3 for $22 and got $9 back 5 weeks later.  So yeah thanks anyway.

To be honest I don't buy many games. Maybe like 2 a year so I don't know if its worth it to buy physical. There is no place to rent games around me either. I prefer watching online videos and playing demos.
