Forums - Microsoft - Should I go all digital??

I haven't bought any Xbox One games yet should I go digital? Can you redownload games you payed for anytime even if you delete them to save space? What are some pros and cons for Blue rays vs all digital.

I'm thinking of going all digital because I might download free games/indie games/arcade games so I want it all uniform. What do you think?

No. You can buy used games, why opt for the more expensive version of a game?

Should you go all digital: No
Can you redownload games you payed for: of course, they are linked to your account not the system
Pros/cons for blu* ray vs digital: Blu ray is physical, digital isn't. Other than that it's the same game.

You're doing this just to be uniform? That sounds a bit OCD. But whatever floats your boat.
This reason why I think this is a bad idea, and this goes for the PS4 as well, is because games currently are 30+ gb each digitally. Especially on the Xbone, where you can't upgrade your hard drive (unlike the ps4), you should watch your space.

I do prefer digital in general, due to my laziness of not changing disks. But the pros of physical owning for next gen FAR outweigh the cons. At least for now.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

You have to install ps4/one games anyways so you're not saving any room are you?

Btw I don't buy used games. Games get cheap enough after release anyways to buy someone's used crap. I just worry that they won't lower the price on digital as fast as physical

Not yet, at least not fully digital. Only for games you know you'll want to keep and spend hundreds of hours with.

I would say no, but I'm heavily biased against digital content, so I guess I'm not the best person to ask.

Only games I'm buying digital are KI, games I want that are digital only, and sports games (a future Madden, and definitely the Xbox One NHL games that will come).

You do what you want to do, but you know the file sizes and the hard drive. Plus I heard externals are not supported YET, and that upgradable HDDs can be upgraded, but I believe it breaks the warranty (don't quote me on that one).

I don't see any reason to go all digital.

Not yet. I'd wait and see how things pan out before going all digital. I planned on doing that originally with my 3DS, still buy at shops!!

Apparently MS may allow resale of digital purchases eventually on Xbox One. Maybe then, "jump in!"
