I doubt far differant would happen. Nin makes great games, but they dont make GTA Uncharted Halo GT types games. They would not give their partner the ability to directly challange their competition.

Whats the strategy, Google makes a design and has everyone make it ? or Apple makes it and tries to get charge $1000 for it, its apple anything less then double the price of the competition is unApplesish.
