Everquest. You character doesn't need to sleep but does complain about lack of food and water. Although the only real detrimental effect of running out was that spam message every 30 or 60 seconds.

2. Conscience transfer/upload - Immortality
3. Molecular level printing (perfect copies. Copyright/capitalism is dismantled. Energy becomes the new single demand)
4. Nuclear fusion (solves demand in #3)
5. Space environment/travel improvements (terraforming, warp core)
