I meant adjusting TV settings for KI. Killer Instinct is a native 720p title. I would like someone here to set it into 720p and adjust their TV and post some pics.

Ryse was 900p, which is why they went with their own solution rather than Microsofts.

Taking pictures off-screen isn't that easy.
Here is a simple comparison, I applied an equal and opposite basic contrast adjustment to 2 images from the OP trying to even them out
Upscaled version first, the 720p original image second (like in the OP)

The second image looks richer in colors now, and detail has been lost from the first image.
My point is that it's the display that's responsible for the final image quality, which everyone can set to their own preference. The console should not apply any image adjustments, that only destroys detail and makes it incompatible with other inputs.

That second picture looks so much better than the filtered pic. SO much better.

Thanks for taking the time to make the adjustments. It looks great and you don't lose all that additional detail.

My game doesn't look as dark as some of these photos and to me you're over exaggerating a bit in these shots Euphoria.

You can think whatever you want. I already know the filter crushes black and that is never a good thing.

Just take the time and look at the pics Whatever posted. Just to the right of Jago's head in the 720p shot you can see the outside of the building. In the filtered pics all of that detail is gone and turned into crushed black.

No exaggeration on my part friend, it is a downright terrible filter that crushes blacks and brightens whites while destroying so much of the game's detail. The pics Whatever postes are the greatest indicator. Jago's gloves lose their detail, the emblem under the ceiling beam loses all detail, the outside of the building becomes a black blob, the ceiling, which is lit by a fire beneath is black, the list goes on.

If you like that then more power to you.

Edit - In the pic by Svenno you can clearly see that a change in settings makes it looks as nice, all while keeping all the detail in Jago's clothing, especially sash and pants, also keeps all detail in the support beam to his right. Same goes for the cloth connected to the beam. The ceiling boards are open, meaning light comes in. Where the shadows are should be soft as it isn't in total darkness, yet in the filtered shots those shadows are crushed black while the the adjusted 720p shots without the filter the shadows are soft.

You say I am exaggerating, but as we can see I just clearly notice these things more than you do and to me they are very obvious.

It's cool man you can have it. Regardless of the nitpicking the game is fun so far.

I like the bottom images better.

Oh, that much I do not doubt in the least. The game looks fantastic. I love watching videos where someone finishes off his opponent by catching him in a 60+ hit combo.

Top pics better. Bottom pics are overly bright with no contrast, which is unrealistic.

I hate greyish blacks. I see so many people that have their tv's set up wrong when watching movies.

The best result would be nearer to the top than the bottom.

umm no, just no. the bottom ones are better. The main reason is the crushing blacks, specially in area's with shadows, which result in loss of detail, a huge loss of detail that is. what you are seeing is colors being WAY over saturated. which is NOT realistic. just because you are seeing colors pop up doesnt mean it it looks better. Look at the wolfs chest and fur/beard. you cant see anything, no details at all. its all crushing black, how is that realistic? look at the face close up and look at the background, details are lost all over the place. it makes the lighting seem off due because it messes up how the light scatters on objects. it messes up the textures, details and lighting. it is in no WAY more realistic. The only be benefit is the better ani aliasing.

@OP: the ones without the filter are better, anyone who says the opposite is just saying so because thats what he wants to see, not because its true. or because he is simply clueless.

I'm still in the Dojo practicing. The timing is what I keep messing up on. Those Ultras are great

Unfortunately for me I am still unable to play KI. I went with a PS4 since I own a Vita and I like their exclusives.

Still, I will be on board someday. Until them I will watch some competitive videos.

The bottom pictures aree all wrong in colour. Theirs no black. The top images are far better. And have more vibrant colour depth. The bottom pics are washed out. My console looks like the top.I have setting on 36 bit colour (factory is 24 ) and RGB colour to full range ( factory set to half ) also 1080p. Best pictuure. Rich colour and not washed out.

You are aware of the fact that there is more than just (1) shade of black right?

If you run a game in Full RGB, like is supposed to be possible when running through HDMI, you should be easily able to see these?

So you know, if you can't even see the top (2-3) top left image differences then you are not running in proper "Full RGB".

Black is not universal. There are all different shades, which is why people find issue with crushed blacks. Crushed black isn't proper.

Look at Svenno's posts. His show how the shadows should look, especially on the clothing and cloths attached to the support beams. In the XBone filtered pics they are all nothing but crushed black. Those are NOT correct and seriously lacking in terms of proper blacks.

If you look at Whatever's posts you can clearly see how those crushed blacks DESTROY the texture detail.

It may seem to look "nice", but it is not realistic, nor are the colors "correct". To say so is false.

bottom photos look washed out. The top photos the blacks are horrible, the rest of the colors seem good though.

I honestly think the darkness overshadows some of the details in textures and things... maybe they should go for less darkness overall
