Forums - Nintendo - Wii U Is One Of The Winners Of Black Friday & Cyber Monday “Deals Awards” For Kid’s

Rainbow Loom, Lego, and Wii U are the winners of the Black Friday and Cyber Monday 2013 “Deals Awards” for kid’s toys and gifts. Announced today by the Cyber Week Awards, the first, second, and third place winners were selected based on the pricing and available deals on this holiday shopping season’s most popular kid’s toys and gifts. Several other toys, such as Skylanders Swap Force and Barbie, are also included on a secondary list of products that received an “honorable mention.”

The Wii U, when compared to the PS4 (“Playstation 4″) and the Xbox One, may not seem to be the most popular toy this holiday season. However, the Wii U is a clear winner for younger kids interested in video games. It offers more interaction for children and has many more games tailored to a younger audience. For example, the toy-based video games appearing on the honourable mentions list, Disney Infinity and Skylanders Swap Force, are very popular among youngsters at the moment. Additionally, the Wii U is less expensive than the PS4 and the Xbox One. For these reasons, the Wii U earned the third place award.

Ps4 and Xone being 'toys' confirmed.

But nice to see a positive Wii U new for a change here. I think it has been like 15 months since last time I saw one.

Positive Wii U news? Blasphemy!

That is not the type of advertising the WiiU needs.

Odd how it won this award when there were barley any good deals for it.

even PS4 and X1 need this. A good advertising is a good advertising

too bad it didn't sell well at all (compared to PS360)

10 hours at target I sold a grand total of 2.

Based off of just your Target? Ah, okay.

Anywho, I still find it funny that they call video game consoles in general "toys." I thought they were considered a seperate entity? Like, "Electronics" or something that doesn't make them seem like a companion to Barbie.

Gaming consoles have always been toys, I don't see why they'd be anything else, it's a hobby after all.

this time yes. No down time to check any other stores. But we had deals on Ps3 and 360 and both had stacks towards the front of the store. The Wii U had minimal stock with most of it in the backroom/warehouse. Sold better than the Ps4/X1 though
