microsoft are the ones that I see getting out first. then sony.

Simply because they are followers, instead of leaders, like Nintendo for the past 3 decades.

Nintendo is just having another N64 nightmare all over again, but instead of having a considerable ammount of power more, it a considerable less.

If they are followers wouldn't they have to exit after the other consoles exited?? Following is the person coming last. And wouldn't the person exiting first be the FIRST to lead on a next generation??!? my head hurts

My head hurst more. The leader is the one who sets the pace for what is gaming. And so far, Nintendo was only behind on online gaming, everything else, they pretty much pioneered. From game genres and concepts - Goldeneye, MArio 64, Nintendogs, Brain Trainning, Wii Sports -  to gamepad enhancements: wiimote was the most ripped off acessory for gaming for the past 10 years, also analog sticks, shoulder buttons, d-pad, rumble, touch screen gaming, and a screen in your controller.

That's it. Boy of 44562 toasts.

Ohh I see what your're saying. In addition to online they also lack good multimedia features such as DVD playback different online apps and joint accounts etc. They also still haven't added achievements (Xbox led the way on that and it's been copied by almost everyone). They havn't done controller-less controls like Kinect and PSeye. I guess in terms on game genres nintendo started a bunch popular but is failing to keep up with competition now.

To me the console is just way too expensive. I want it, but I'm not gonna buy it for this price. Nintendo has to do what Sony did with Vita so far and just play the waiting game, wait till the costs of manufacturing it are lower, then cut the price and unlike Sony - keep on pumping AAA games or getting 3rd party exclusives. And not just family friendly stuff, they need more games like X, Bayo 2, Metroid, dark 3D Zelda, etc. so that the core gamers pick Wii U up as a valid second console with must-have core games. But most importantly, they need to reach the $199 sweetspot ASAP, even if it means to take a hit on every console. $249 would be good as well, but this console really is too last gen (inferior to PS360 in many important aspects) to validate a next gen price.

And they also have to expand to other European countries. It is ridiculous that in Poland, in which Sony will easily sell over a million PS4s, there is no Nintendo of Poland and you can't find a Wii U anywhere. Hell, I live in a 1.3 mil aglomeration and there isn't a single store that has a Wii U and only 3 stores sell 3DS! Sony and MS are making money and Nintendo doesn't care at all. Crazy.

bolded: sony didn't do that to Vita.

if you think wii u is expensive, you must think ps4 and xone are outrageously expensive.

I have underlined it just for you. You should keep your reflexes in check and not attack Sony without even reading.

XO is way too expensive, PS4 has a good price, Wii U is too expensive. PS4 and Wii U don't offer the same thing, Wii U is way too last gen to validate a next gen price. The upgrade you get between the two consoles is worth way more than just the extra $100.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

I think it's unwise to buy a Wii U. You never know if it might get discontinued in a year or two..

-Nintendo stopped production on the original Wii (which had similar sales to Wii U at the time)

-Each Wii U is sold at a loss while the Wii was sold for profit

-Xbox 360/ PS3 are selling better than Wii U despite the older systems being just as expensive

-PS4 and Xbox One just launched

-Despite new games and a price cut happening Wii U sales haven't really picked up

-Even if the system was cheaper I don't think anyone would buy it, it doesn't have that casual feeling the Wii did

-Does not play DVDs or blue rays so price can be justified

-Tablet controller is weird, if I wanted to use a tablet for gaming I would just buy a samsung tablet or Ipad

-Same or even less 3rd party support than the GameCube

Nintendo themselves aren't even releasing THAT many games for the system. Most are for 3DS (Which is pretty dope btw).

What do you think? Will the Wii U get discontinued in a couple years similar to dreamcast?

Wii U won't be "discontinued" anytime soon, but hopefully people like you thinking that these non-stop bullshit threads every other day are fresh, bright and original will be. Just saying.

The "nuclear option"

- Make the gamepad optional. Remove it from the standard Wii U SKU.

- $199.99 Wii U w/NSMBU and Wii Sports Club (free tennis and bowling, you pay for other sports) bundled. 1 Wiimote + 1 Pro Controller.

- Launch it alongside Mario Kart 8 in April.

- Nintendo Land 2 w/all the old attractions + a few new ones (Wave Race, Pilotwings, and Kid Icarus plz) comes bundled with the tablet controller separately for $89.99. Existing Wii U owners get Nintendo Land 2 for free as a thank you via the eShop.

- Bend a little to fan demands and give them the dark, badass Zelda game they want. When a system is going this badly, game developer fancies and desires need to take a bit of a backseat. Start building hype by unveiling the game live on prime time US television at the VGX awards.

yea kind of think that making gamepad optional or maybe releasing a version without it to see how sales go on would be a good option, i am in favor of the second one to see if it happens the same that happened between the wii u premium and the basic

I sure hope not it will be discontinued, and I feel that I have no reason to believe so either. Because there will come many good games, especially from Nintendo themselves, and will make sales from this.

Also all of us that loves games will not want them to get this discontinued for many reasons.

I myself might not buy a Wii U for many years. I will most likely buy one 2015 or 2016. The price will be very low by then and there will be a lot of good games to choose from.

Not sure if trolling or plain stupid...
