Forums - Nintendo - Will Wii U get discontinued soon??

i would like to see it done for the simple fact that all these wiiu doomed threads and discontinued is imminent would come to and end on this site

then we can get back to sony vs ms wars which i find much more enjoyable

@OP the wiiu will get discontinued at some point just like every console weather it will be premature and the final Nintendo console would be shocking but everything must come to a end

there is some truth there, though it doesnt just involve nintendo, but also microp and sony, as things are going now seems that consoles will no llonger exist inn the future and either pc or systems like ouya and other will prevail

First thing first: why mod dont just merge these threads? Make the same thread is not flood? Merge all then in one, please.

Second: most of the hate about nintendo is just on hardware side, they just can stand something different hardware wise, they want nintendo to suceed, as a 3rd party developer.

Finally: while Iwata is in charge, i'm certain that wiu will be safe. If he get fired, i will get really worried tough.

"Hardware design isn’t about making the most powerful thing you can.
Today most hardware design is left to other companies, but when you make hardware without taking into account the needs of the eventual software developers, you end up with bloated hardware full of pointless excess. From the outset one must consider design from both a hardware and software perspective."

microsoft are the ones that I see getting out first. then sony.

Simply because they are followers, instead of leaders, like Nintendo for the past 3 decades.

Nintendo is just having another N64 nightmare all over again, but instead of having a considerable ammount of power more, it a considerable less.

If they are followers wouldn't they have to exit after the other consoles exited?? Following is the person coming last. And wouldn't the person exiting first be the FIRST to lead on a next generation??!? my head hurts

not sure the situation is as bad as the n64 era, thinks will do better than that

No. That would be worse than sticking with the Wii U.

My head hurst more. The leader is the one who sets the pace for what is gaming. And so far, Nintendo was only behind on online gaming, everything else, they pretty much pioneered. From game genres and concepts - Goldeneye, MArio 64, Nintendogs, Brain Trainning, Wii Sports -  to gamepad enhancements: wiimote was the most ripped off acessory for gaming for the past 10 years, also analog sticks, shoulder buttons, d-pad, rumble, touch screen gaming, and a screen in your controller.

That's it. Boy of 44562 toasts.

The only thing worse than how Nintendo handled the WiiU post-launch would be if they chose to discontinue it "soon".

Nope. Much like the Gamecube, they will focus on profiting from hardware and software which will come in time. The WiiU will be around for at least another 3 years before the successor.
