I'm surprised so many people are choosing Vista over Windows M.E.
Either short memories, they never tried Windows M.E. or just following the crowd in this regard. :P

Windows Vista actually ended up being a solid OS, not *really* that much different from Windows 7 in allot of aspects.
The problem with Vista was that upon launch device manufacturers had such poor drivers it brought the entire new ecosystem down.
For instance nVidia was responsible for 30% or more of Vista's blue screens.
That's compounded by the fact allot of printers wouldn't work out of the box thanks to the new driver model which meant throwing the old printer out and getting a new one or waiting months in the hope for an update.

And lastly, Vista loves Ram. - OEM's were releasing PC's with Vista with an anemic 512Mb of memory and slow 5400rpm Hard Drives, which meant the new shiny PC you just bought ran at a crawl, that doesn't exactly leave a good taste in anyone's mouth.
Try running Windows 7 or 8 with a 5400rpm Hard Drive and 512Mb of Ram, it *still* wouldn't be an enjoyable experience, but alas Vista got branded as slow and bloated because of it.

Windows M.E. was on an entirely different level.
The OS was horrible, bug ridden and slow regardless of the hardware and drivers you used.
Heck it would even blue-screen if you ejected a CD/DVD in the middle of installing something.
It's problems like those that were never fixed and still exist today, Vista is Gold plated in comparison.

This. Vista got way too much hate. People just had slow computers that wernt equipped with enough ram. Had pc manufacturers started selling pcs with 2gb of ram or so it wouldnt have been a problem

You put devS in the title. Do you have any proof other MS devs hate W8?

I don't know whether Corinne's boobs are developers too, but surely they are well developed!
Anyhow, I added in the post that they can't say it until they are EX-MS employees, so I'll give you one more of them:
http://www.pcworld.com/article/251820/ex_microsoft_employee_launches_fixing_windows_8_campaign.html

This is not all, though, MS attempts to close the SW market started with Windows 8 are pissing off like wasps many 3rd party developers that until Windows 7 were in excellent relationships with Redmond: http://www.trustedreviews.com/opinions/windows-8-good-for-gamers-but-what-about-developers
This is not totally bad news for me, though, as it could be the best opportunity ever for SteamOS to grab a consistent share of PC gaming market, and maybe it could also pave the way to PC market (not only for gaming, what's more) for Android too.

You should consider that Win ME tormented just a few tens million users, it was so bad that MS had to rush XP release to stop the shitstorm it had attracted on itself, while Vista managed to torment a few HUNDREDS million people, an order of magnitude bigger number, so it's statistically correct to find more people unhappy of it.

that doesn't mean they hate it.

It could mean anything. Try eating the same food every day 3 times a day. eventually after few years you will be sick of it and want change

unless its pizza

You don't know anything!  I started working in my family's pizzia restaurant when I was in 8th grade.  Because of that, I avoided eating pizza for years.  I'll eat it now, though it's still not my favorite thing.

On topic, she said what she said because, with the PS4, she won't have to deal with the increased complexity of Windows 8 when working on games.

Have you saw my "the godd/the bad/the trash"??? For me who whom not think of M.E. as the worst OS that MS have the courage to ship is crazy... would preffer to use DOS =] (and I hated Vista by the way).

ME was one of the worst things ever created..  I had a computer that would BSOD everytime it booted windows unless you hit cntrl-alt-delete within seconds of first being able to, and terminate almost every program that popped up.  when people saying MS is a great software company, I laugh and think of ME...

I had this on XP, but my computer were seriously ill (it would BSOD or just keep loading forever)... I had to enter the program manager, kill everything (even explorer) and reload explorer to get it working.

So, she got back to Win 7 in which PS4 dev kits are based.

Any way, why 343 would work with Win 8?
