Having checked at Amazon, Best Buy, and Wal~Mart's online stores, it appears that Super Mario 3D World is readily available at all three stores? Do you consider this an ill-omen for Wii U and would you consider it to be an ill-omen for Wii U if Super Mario 3D Worls fails to move Wii U consoles at a remarkable pace?

Yes as there's no excuse for SM3DW not to move consoles.

Isn't black friday sales in america coming soon? i would expect Americans to wait a bit to see what offers come out. Also readily available doesn't mean much as they could have shipped loads.

Nintendo games also have long legs people don't jsut go buy it day one like your GTA or COD crowd.

Give it a month and see how it goes before calling it ill-omen.

Considering all the advertising I've seen for the game (a lot; A LOT), I can't see it doing too poorly...
I don't know that it can save the system...
But I can't see it being that big of a miserable failure...

I haven't picked it up yet as a local store has $10 off $50 purchases this coming Saturday.  I'll be buying it then.

No matter how good a game sells, I've never in the history of ever not just walked into a store and picked it up whenever I wanted to. The only exception is if the game was delayed or the store was never going to get it (like Wal-Mart and Ragnarok Odyssey).

I've never seen a game not be available, no matter how popular.

The Wii-u aint gonna be flying off shelves mate.

Your setting the poor game up for failure if thats what you expect.
