Forums - Sony - PS4 & Vita Ultimate Edition Bundle to sell like hotcakes?

If they can make that bundle available in time for the holidays at around $550-$600 I could see it selling out very fast. After hearing that people are willing to pay $1,000 for an Xbox One and a few games at gamestop I can defiantly see this bundle selling very easily. If they made this bundle for holiday next year im not sure if it would sell though because the hype would have died down from now.

The demand for the Vita isn't very high, I wouldn't expect the bundle to sell if it is above $500 and even then it'd be because people want the PS4 - nobody wants the Vita.

It sold 160000 units last week and you can seriously say this?

Because of Japan. U.S. sales are pittiful and Europe sales aren't all that hot. Sony would be hurting themselves if they forced this as the only PS4  sku.

Depends on price tag. If same price as XOne, probably will sell very well. If higher, i think it will sell OK, but if > $100 than XOne, dont think it will do any good.

160,000 people isn't nobody. Doesn't matter what region those people live in.

i think so. many people will buy it even without or only little interest in the vita. people pay 600 bucks on ebay only for ps4, if they can get a ps4+vita for ~550 (no clue how much a single vita costs in usa) they will obviously also buy this bundle.

It did? Last I checked it was under 50k with 80-90k in vita tv which is not the same thing despite what you may think. Again you don't add apple tv with the iPad numbers do you? Of course not so don't do the same here because your closest competition is 30 million units ahead of you.

For one thing Japan's numbers included the Vita T.V. - not just the Vita consoles to boost its numbers. The Vita also hasa low demand in Japan compared to the 3ds. Also I'm pretty sure the OP was specifically talking about the U.S. where the Vita is barely selling.

For all the people saying nobody wants Vita, that's not necessarily true. It's just that they don't know if support will continue. From my experience, the Vita attach-rate is very high. Everyone I know who has a Vita LOVES it, and PS+ with it is unbelievable value . That makes it awesome since people can get free games when they buy a new Vita. Most people haven't played the best experiences on Vita and are basing conclusion to a few they played. If you haven't you are missing out. I really hope PS4/Vita bundle boosts both PS4 and especially Vita sales. It's a good thing PS4 is sold out in most places since this bundle will be the consumer's only choice in some cases for a good deal.

No dude. I own a PS Vita - picked one up in September.

But the thing never ceases to disapoint me sales wise. Back when the price drop was announced for the Vita - I predicted an increase of sales from 9k to 17k - some people said that was pessimistic prediction. I believe the boost it got was to a grand total of 10k for the week the price drop went into effect. Sony needs attractive software before people are remotely interested in the Vita. The demand is not there. A 33% price drop for a product with any demand would've tripled in sales easily.

The Vita definitely wouldn't make the PS4 any more attractive and if the price isn't right - it could even hurt the sales of the PS4.
