Forums - Sony - PS4 & Vita Ultimate Edition Bundle to sell like hotcakes?

To think that PS4 is basically out of stock currently, and some stores rumored to be waiting for Black Friday to put them back on the shelves, maybe this SKU can sell like hotcakes due to growing demand. I think recently it was said that 2.3 million orders were already placed for PS4 which is out of stock. So if this is the only SKU available at the time, would they go for it?

It depends on the price of course. If it is $500 - $520 I'm sure people will pounce on it. Also, you should note that the bundle will release in Sony's strongest region this past generation, Europe. What do you think, will it flop or sell like hotcakes with a sweet glaze?

All depends on price-tag.

4 ≈ One

It's not going to be that much less than it would cost to buy a Ps4 and Vita separate. So say (In the US) the ps4 cost $400, and the vita cost $200. So $600 separate, it'd be likely Sony makes the bundle like $575 or so.

It would sell more obviously if it were cheaper, but you don't want to make it too cheap without lowing the cost of the vita itself.

Currently own:

  • Ps4

Currently playing: Witcher 3, Walking Dead S1/2, GTA5, Dying Light, Tomb Raider Remaster, MGS Ground Zeros

its not going to be much less 25-50 $ but its a shame i woulda of waited and taken the deal to get this and not get to target at 4 am to be the 40'th person in line at target which opend at 8 and just barley get one by 10 people. but who knows i have 4 ps3's in my house so i might be getting more ps4's..

The demand for the Vita isn't very high, I wouldn't expect the bundle to sell if it is above $500 and even then it'd be because people want the PS4 - nobody wants the Vita.

As you said, everything depends on price and stock of the standalone PS4. If it will be 499$, it will sell like hotcakes, if it will be 549$ or more then it will sell good when standalone PS4 will nowhere to be seen which is possible. If there will be a lot of PS4s in shops then I see people making them their priority over the bundle.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

I don't think such bundle will have like a million set, probably just a few thousands the most they prepared, so even if it sold out also won't see much impact unless demand hugely increase in future...

If they introduce it now, while the PS4 is still soldout most of the time, then yes. Many people will buy it, even if they'd rather have a standalone PS4, as a 500 dollar/euro PS4 & PS Vita bundle still beats paying 700 dollars/euros for a standalone PS4 on eBay! Amazon already bundled the PS4 with it's own Kindle Fire tablet to sell more of the thing lol!!

After the PS4 becomes readily available though, you will see the bundle selling less, but it will still put up good numbers.

It sold 160000 units last week and you can seriously say this?

If it's priced at like $500 i'll try to buy one, and then just give the Vita to my friend or something.
