I just dont get Animal Crossing

You'd buy a game that featured Reggie and Iwata, where you would all go hang out and go visit things together.

I dont know if anybody read the OP. He did not claim that Japan had better taste than us, but they are less shallow than we are. Those virtual girlfriends and boob games and your opinions on them only help the claim.

OP: Have you considered that most people who bought HD consoles did it because they enjoy the gameplay of those games? A lot of games with impressive visuals, tech-wise, have fantastic gameplay as well.

This whole polarizing position of "gameplay vs. graphics" is unfair, unbalanced and flat out wrong.

This whole "Nintendo own the concept of good gameplay" kind of reminds me of religious people claiming that one cannot have a proper, functioning moral code without being religious.

Well yeah, look at the Wii U for example, That's why it's not as popular with western developers compare to eastern devs.
