That they are, but Ninty and(to a lesser extent) Xbox fanboys are low in numbers, so they're easy to ignore. 2 years ago PS fanboys were the same, but they've grown so rampant and obnoxious these days that it's become pretty much impossible to avoid them. That's what I mean by "out of control." Hopefully things'll die down once the launch fever ends.

Okay, but here's the question.  Why are there "fanboys"?  Last gen we had DS, PS3, PSP, Wii and Xbox 360.  Everyone of them had some great games on them.  Why would anyone want to be so "brand loyal" as to miss out on all the great games the others offer.  As far as I'm concerned, "fanboys" are not true gamers.

Companies are like prostitutes, they only love you for as long as you're paying.

With the PS4 reviews though, most were verified. In fact there were more unverified positive reviews than unverified negative reviews.


Uhm why dont you read the reviews for fucks sake, there are a lot of disc reading issues with the Bones, they sound like they're chewing the discs.

Don't even get how reviews on Amazon have any kind of value to begin with, even more in cases where whatever you purchased doesn't works.

1 star review because your console, whatever brand it may be, is broken doesn't represente the console potential as a gaming system, if it's broken get it fixed, it comes with a warranty for a reason after all.

I thought you needed to buy the product to rate it... oh well. Surely that doesnt matter at any rate. Even if there are low star ratings there i am gonna go read them and see why they think so.
Anyone else with a brain will do the same. If its a trash review, its pretty obvious.

Logic would dictate Amazon should have a policy where only purchasers/verified owners could review an item.  I honestly have no idea why they have this policy, myself.  But, it's probably because they want as many reviews on items as possible.  And I doubt highly there's a huge market in fake reviews outside of the 'console wars', which is sad to say the least.

There have been reports of artists/ authors reviewing their own products to increase their rating. It's an issue that largely goes ignored by Amazon. There was also the time when people en mass rated 1 stars to a fox news contributor's book.... If I remember correctly it was after she criticized Mass Effect 2.
