Forums - Gaming - Xbox One vs PS4 Game Install Time Comparison (FIFA 14 Up)

Really have to question the mental abilities of the posters who make up excuses and justifications for choosing the worse performing of these 2 consoles.

Oh it doesn't matter that it takes longer, I'll just do something else.

Okay, but how it that relevant to it taking longer? Oh right, it isn't.

Oh, and you could do something else since the beginning of video game installs - it's nothing new. Were you born yesterday?

Xbone is nearly 5 times slower. I wonder why? Did they not use the same version of Bluray drive as that of PS4?

I'm reading there are games that needs to go over 50% install to start to play and some games needs to be full installed first... other needs the mandatory day one patch for the game so it takes a lot of time.

I will post more comparisons.

I guess both systems follow a different approach and it will be improved further. On PS4 many games differ on when you can play them. Experience will improve on both consoles over time when devs understand how to put data appropriately on disc.

Most likely due to the secondary CPU and 2Gb (That's 2 Gigabit, not Gigabytes...so roughly 256mb of DDR3) of RAM they have on the PCB of the PS4.

With a PS4 from the moment you put the disk in sit down and pick up the controller, you just got time to snap your fingers before the game begins. :)

Apparently the ps4 cant multitask :/

Seriously, lol.

Just kidding :D

But you would swear that was the case going by how some people are talking about multitasking on the Xbox One as if its a feature the PS4 doesnt have.

That's horrible! I was used to doing other stuff during that time!

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I remember install times! Good ol' PS3.

There is the issue with typing on a forum, the way I was trying to say "seriously" is misunderstood.

Yesterday I installed GT5 on PS3 and with all the updates it took ages....good thing PS3 is multitasking, while I was installing the game I went to the kitchen and made myself dinner, at the same time I watched an episode of south park on my laptop while downloading few torrents. I could also call a friend while waiting GT5 to fully update..good thing I had enough time to go to a near ATM to get me some cash. Multitasking FTW!

Yeah, felt like 30 seconds didn't it?

27 seconds :P

Killzone already has me feeling spoiled.

First time I inserted the disc it booted up, then another 5-10 seconds and I was at the main menu screen.

I miss the days of waiting 20 minutes before I could play Devil May Cry or the long waits between chapters in Metal Gear Solid 4.
