PS4 was designed to start playing as soon as possible. It was a response to the horrendous instalations of the PS3. Sony pushed this with special care.

Microsoft didn´t pay atention to this feature. May be they patch it, if people realy complain, or newer games start to broke down file chuncks in a more pipelined way.

How can you patch a blu ray drive?

(Im assuming that's what game instal time depends on)

First, you can update a bluray drive. In fact, PS4 will recive a patch to play CDs and 3D BluRays very soon.

Second, the drivres on PS4 and XOne are pratically the same.

The diference is how the file system handles the games assets or, more likelly, the games structs their files on each console.

I was to busy surfing the internet in snap mode to realise. LOL.

Felt like 30 seconds to me on Xbox One

Your feelins are off most of the time. No surprise.

Ease up pal. Youve done nothing but be negative about Xbox One all week. Thread after thread.

Got one yesterday, and its the 2nd best console launch behind N64 that Ive ever had. It works flawlessly and the best thing I bought all year.

So pleased with its featureset. TV through the Xbox One is wierd, but oh so good. I wonder how I can live without that now. No invites, Skype Calls etc whilst using TV just seems ice age now.

You can update the firmware in any CD/DVD/BD drive... that's how hackers brooke 360 security.

Apparently the ps4 cant multitask :/

My thoughts... for some users here seems like PS4 can't do what they are saying and with a plus you start to play early.

It amazes me how opinions on certain things seem to turn into the complete opposite in this new generation of consoles.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

You can't make it read faster can you? Are there differences in read speeds?

I think you could patch the way the console reads the data, since they both require full installs, I am sure they could get parity in terms of install times if the cause was anything other than a slower disc read speed

Physical not but you can optimize the read algorithm for read faster... some PC drives get faster with firmware update because some bug fixes or optimizations but you will be always limited to physical speeds... the optmizations just help the real-life drive speeds to get close to the physical speeds.

Now people know why snap is there to use for X1, when it works according to reviews. Xbox..go to snap mode....Xbox...go to netflix....Xbox... go to netflix....XBOX....GO TO NETFLIX!!!

Sorry. I can tell you straight up. The videos online of it not listening properly are due to the entire wrong commands being given.

IT works almost flawlessly through the noise of Family Guy on Sky. Tv Volume control the lot. As long as you spend 10 minutes setting up Kinect, One Guide and other Voice features. Its pretty flawless.

So let's see....take your word for it...or look at quite a few reviews who state that the voice controls are great...when they work which they admit there is problems with the voice recognition. I agree throughout the IGN video not all commands were used properly but a lot were. I compared that video with the tutorial video from Yusuf Mehdi and Mark Whitten and some of the voice commands were said the same word for word with the right pause time used between words as well and the system didn't work.

The noise of Family guy is not going to sway my opinion, test it when a few people are over and the conversation gets louder. An employee at Futureshop tested this out in front of me last night in store and the commands didn't work. Reviewers like Adam Sessler state the same thing. Sorry, but I am not taking your word of all people on this site.

luckily we can multitask while its happening with other things on the ONE.... lol

Also, I hope they do a download time comparison...

heh, xbox would win by 4 hours...

Yes, because PS4 can't multitask like xbox....

For digital titles, I would like to know which titles support fraction of game download in order to play. Also I believe this feature is not available to Xbone?
