Its not a case of believing it or not. Its such a small number it has no relevance and is not worth considering. He could well be right but its just a blind guess with nothing of any substance to back it up.

Amazon probably got 10 times the stock allocation of target. So tell me how many units did they receive and how many have they sold. Well actually I can tell you they sold all they received but how many is that please ?

You can extrapolate the Target sales from 10 stores... the statistical error will be low... that's how you make statistics.

And if the Target/US sales ratio of Xbone is like the Targer/US ratio of PS4 then you can extrapolate too.

No you cant. Because different stores of different size and sales record in this category will get a different split of stock. Plus you dont know the stock split Target got overall. They might not have a good relationship with MS, they might have had a poor sales record. You don`t know how many consoles as a company they received. You dont know anything at all apart from the supposed reservations and deliveries for 10 target stores. We dont even know if that is the truth or accurate

There is nothing here worth considering. Lets wait for the actual sales figures and really see whats happening.

As for the "grand" scheme of things Target will probably grab like 5-10% of the market. Is it as big as Best Buy, Walmart, Amazon or Gamestop? No. Is it bigger than K-mart, Toys R Us, Sears, HH Gregg, Frys Electronics? Yes.

You are talking about a launch in NA and Europe with stock of a Million units maybe more maybe less. 100 stores in tens of thousands is of no relevance what so ever.

Like I said Amazon will have got 10 times the stock of Target or more. You dont even know how much stock as a company Target got. I worked quite high up the supply chain of a large multiple in consumer electronics and I could go on any SKU and see how much stock had been received, how much was on route and the split per store.

IF you had this sort of information it would be useful but you dont. So you are just guessing and that is no good to anyone.

Ps4 and X1 will be within a few hundred K of each other in NA. Anyone thinking otherwise are in for a rude awakening.

a few hundred K is still alot of consoles..

The difference will be 30-40% more for PS4.

Xbone: 600-700k
