Forums - General Discussion - George Zimmerman charged with aggravated assault at girlfriend's home

http://www.cnn.com/2013/11/18/justice/florida-george-zimmerman-arrest/index.html#disqus_thread

"(CNN) -- George Zimmerman was charged Monday with felony aggravated assault after allegedly pointing a shotgun at his girlfriend, according to Dennis Lemma, chief deputy with the Seminole County, Florida, Sheriff's Office.

Zimmerman, who was acquitted earlier this year of murdering teenager Trayvon Martin, was arrested after the incident at the home of Samantha Scheibe, Lemma said. He also was charged with two misdemeanors -- domestic violence battery and criminal mischief -- in connection with the same incident, Lemma said.

Zimmerman is being held in jail without bail and will make his first appearance in front of a judge Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. ET."

HE is digging himself in a massive whole

That's what happens with the types of people that go around looking for fights while they carry guns at all times. He has no foresight or wisdom at all.

The whole Trayvon incident screwed up his life.

If I was in his shoes, I'd probably stop giving a fuck about life as well.

I wouldn't say that, he just couldn't see the big picture, at all.  Zimmerman was trying to get a job as a cop and had applied a few times, unsuccessfully b4 the trayvon thing.  So he runs for head of his neighborhood watch and goes around patrolling.  Then he goes apeshit and  kills some kid while making it look like he wasnt so much in the wrong.  Fine, whatever keeps him out of prison, but hes never going to be a cop now, or have any other proffessional position, even if he getsdeclared innocent in this trial.  Do stupid shit, ruin your life.  Totally fair results.r

That's the thing right? nobody other than him and Trayvon truly knows what went down that night, if his story was true or not, the entire trial got turned in to nothing more than a soapbox for race issues, even if everything he said was true it would still pretty much ruin all possibility of a normal life, so this occuring is a "well im not surprised" kind of deal, yet those who have just as little knowledge about the situation as you or me, but feel compelled to strongly defend Trayvons name, a kid they never met, knew or cared about before the trial, would look at this as confirmation of their beliefs.

People need to understand that you cant just lynch a guys image worldwide then be surprised if that has an adverse effect on that persons future, whether he is found guilty or not.

The whole trial was bullshit from the start, the notion of "innocent until proven guilty" was tossed asside and the media basically treated it like a race war from the very beginning.

I dont know if he was guilty or innocent, i dont know if Trayvon was a nice kid or a wannabe thug, but the reality of this situation is simply that if a persons life is ruined, for whatever reason, you should not be surprised if they do not conduct the rest of their life in a normal manner.

In closing, don't you find it quaint how no matter how obviously guilty a person is, friends and family will always paint them out to be a roll model, a pillar of their community and so on?

Growing up we had a kid in our neighbourhood, he stole cars, burgles houses, had several ASBO's, was suspected of raping a girl on her way home from school, and dealing in drugs - the guy got shot, IN THE MIDDLE OF A DRUG DEAL that went sour - but when the media got a hold of it, he was painted to be the poor victim who was "forced in to a terrible lifestyle by the hardships he faced, a good boy who treated the world with respect and dignity", it happens every. freaking. time.

Rant over.

Weird rant. So much emphasis on the intricacies of the Trayvon case even though many of those details weren't necessary for your point regarding this particular story. Something tells me you've been waiting for any potential opportunity to say this for a long time.

This is actually becoming amusing. First the Trayvon case, then he hits the lotto, then he pulls a family from a turned over SUV, and now this. How many times can one ordinary civilian get in the news? My guess is there isn't just one Zimmerman; rather, there's at least four or five romaing the country. It's the only explanation. The question is are they biological or robotic?

Not much regarding any intricacies, more the general attitudes towards race, how trials end up being a lynching of a persons life, regardless of their guilt.

I see it all the time on the news, worldwide, its stupid.
