The PS4 launch hit the console market's shores like a tidal wave. How do you think the Steam Machines will fare in the market after this?

This, I stole from grandpa...It's called soap.

I never saw a "good time" for a Steam Machine, either. The concept just don't click on me.

Nevertheless it appeals to many. I, myself, believe it's high time someone put flesh and bones on "The PC".

here is an article about this topic. good read.

it all depends on how many of the people that are disappointed in the ONE and PS4 go for the steam box or decide on going straight to PC.
I know a few who have gone straight to PC and steambox wasn't on their wish list whatsoever
I don't think Steamboxes are affected by the console market or vice versa. People will be buying them instead of a new gaming PC (or not at all).
It's a bad time if they intend to succeed because they need LAUNCH GAMES. Another Orange Box would do nicely.
i think steam has a pretty loyal userbase with lots of fanboys therefore it should be sell better than many expect
but to attrackt more people it may be better to wait until the costumers pockets are refilled with money and the xb1/ps4 hypedust sttles

I was just about to post the same thing. It just seems like a pointless concept to me. They should've just came out with the comtroller and called it a day.
I am the Playstation Avenger.

Do you believe they are a new version of PC? Like...PC 2.0?

Me neither. PC gamers are PC gamers for a reason, I don't see them switching over to consoles just because Valve made one. I highly doubt console gamers will embrace it either, I think they're content with the big three.
I'm not really sure when they should launch the Steam Machines. Maybe during the summer when consoles are usually going through a drought.
Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
