endimion said: Lol typical PC supremacists answer... Bahaha I was waiting for the LoL example... And the steam one... Lol is actually a great argument going my way... You can pretty much play that game on any PC certainly no need for a gaming... And steam moving to console also is a strong argument going my way... within 10 maybe 15 tops having a low cost terminal will be all you need to do what most high PC are able to do.. Gaming is not going anywhere it is one of the cheapest and fastest way to entertain the masses...it dwarfs anything else movie, music, going out and even going vacation when you take the cost to reward ratio.. Japan is great expression of that... Quick readily available and rather cheap entertainment that can last you a decade or more... People of all age game more and more... And the console and low cost PC are the best option for most people... So yeah high end PC gaming and geeking out monster PC rig is a decreasing marginal hobby with very low appeal for countless of people that want that cheap f2p or easy living room set up to escape there daily routine at a low cost... But yeah geeking out is fun just less and less appealing for most... |
Who cares what hardware League of Legends needs? Really? It's *still* got more players playing that one game than any other game and only on the PC.
If you wan't graphics look no farther than Battlefield 3 and 4, Crysis 3, Star Citizen, Metro 2033, Metro: Last Light and pretty much every multi-platform, they are all superior on the PC graphically.
As for Steam on consoles, it will never happen, not how it is on the PC anyway with thousands of games, a heap of free games, voice chat, big picture mode, lots of sales, modding support etc'
Valve is a very PC centric company, Microsoft and Sony would not want to give up their profits to Valve/Steam that's for sure by having it on their consoles.
Besides, if you look at the Steam statistics there are millions of PC's that are more powerfull than the next generation consoles, the vast majority however aren't. - Mainly due to the Xbox 360/Playstation 3 only because people simply haven't had a reason to upgrade yet, take a look at the statistics in 12 months time, really.
And yes, I'm a PC "supremacists" when you spend thousands on a no-compromise PC, I think you are given that right. :P
Fact of the matter is, in the end PC gaming is growing, not slowing, which is in stark contrast to the rest of the PC market which is in decline if you go by manufacturers such as Dell, Acer etc'.
Heck, PC gamers have almost paid $30 million dollars to develop Star Citizen, that kind of thing just never happens on consoles.
Besides, over the long term, PC gaming can be cheaper anyway.
