Forums - Microsoft - A New Generation: Taking Advantage of Xbox Live

Sorry not up for debate Ouya ushered in next-gen any other statement is false. June 25th 2013'was the start of the 8th generation of console gaming.

Around the Network

People are stuck in the past... thank god fanboys are not those who define what's new gen!

LOL I didn't think this thread would turn into an argument. Clearly a joke inspired topic relax guys. but yeah like somebody said, next gen starts at a different time for everybody. don't know for sure when it will for me though lol.

6 more days till the real next gen begins.

Who's to decide when next-gen begins? Ps4 and WiiU have many more games in Full HD than XB1. What's next-gen about XB1 that PS4 and WiiU don't have?

So, next-gen is decided by HD?

Not necessarily, but it shows that there are different ways to determine what's next-gen.

I've always loved Xbox Live. Been such a good experience for me and now that they're improving it with new features like Smart-Search and Free games similar to PS+ it has me very excited. I love how the competition of Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft has really made gaming as a whole so much better :)

Around the Network

Ughhh well maybe for people who have an XBOX 360 and are upgrading to an XBOX ONE then the next generation does start is 6 days.........................This is a Microsoft discussion just btw

Lol, I'm sure this was meant to be a joke, but some are getting all but hurt (as usual)over a simple comment (Joke or not).

The irony is strong with this one

If that's the case the PC has already moved onto next next gen.

Lol PCs no matter how powerful are so last decade Gen... I do more stuff beside work on my smartphone than my PC...
see right now answering with my phone while watching Netflix on the box with wifey next to me... Vastly more family friendly.. Easier to use and convenient to use....next Gen has nothing to do with power anymore... Hasn't for years... Apple proved it over and over again and everybody is following suite all across the industry... Heck even Intel is dealing into ARM now....
and the indubitable expansion and use of cloud technology will increase that irrelevance of power over convenience little by little until complete obliteration for the common man...

Keep thinking that. :)
Millions of people around the world are enjoying the ability to play games on their PC.

PC gaming is still on the increase, in the last 12 months Steam increased it's active users by 15 million, that's roughly 30% year on year.
Name a single console game with as many players as League of Legends, not even GTA 5 comes close, even if you combine *all* the consoles active player counts.

And if the PC does die, so do the consoles, who do you think pays for all the technology the consoles use? - Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo sure haven't paid for the Billions in R&D every year.
So if the PC does suddenly implode and the PC gaming market collapses, then your next next generation consoles will probably use antiquated mobile phone processors. - Good luck with that.

Amazing what he just said about PC, eh ?

BTW console manufacturers can't fund R&D anymore because of a tougher economy so us PC gamers pick up the slack for it.

Gaming in general is going to die pretty soon. The gaming industry is like a timed bomb just waiting to self destruct LOL.
