Forums - Nintendo - 3DS Miiverse Won’t Support Message Exchange Between Friends Or Friend Requests

Today I've built a wooden bridge (for fucking horses to cross) under minus 5 degrees. No I'm not lazy. I just like to have an independent device that can connect and interact with other people. Which the 3DS is not and never will be it seems. We gotta lurk on forums for fucking number codes like losers, to have someone in your friend list. And then, you can't voice chat or text chat with them. Gotta use yet another device to do so. Ridiculous, if you ask me. Absolutely obsolete.

While it is weird Nintendo is going with the decision they made after all has been said and done, you are clearly exaggerating.  Also, you don't need to "lurk on forums" to get the codes.  If you know someone in person, you don't have to type in the numbers at all.  Then the thing with voice chat... I honestly don't see very many uses for that with the games on the 3DS.  Maybe Kid Icarus: Uprising and a few others, but not enough to make it where voice chat is absolutely something that should be there or it sucks.  Plus, Heroes of Ruin, if I remember correctly, does allow voice chat.  As for text chat, through MiiVerse they MAY enable it for the 3DS eventually if they're willing to take a risk.

To my own standards, no I'm not exaggerating. You can send friend requests and chat with people on competing portables, no excuse why you can't also do that on NIntendo portables.

Yes, you need to "lurk on foruns" if you don't know anybody. Which is my case. ONly have one friend with 3DS. If I want more, gotta look it up on the internet. How convenient.

The thing with voice chat: It should be there, whether it is your thing or not its up to you. If you want you can use it, if not, ignore it. This is the 21st century, not the 90's.

Around the Network

I'm surprised no one mentioned the reason Nintendo disabled Swapnote. It was that the feature was used by child predators to produce child pornography. Nintendo of course is going to be cautious to allow online communication in a nonmoderated format. Until they grasp a way to circumvent that, Nintendo isn't going to provide such communication easily.

No, you are exaggerating period.  "Absolutely obsolete"  How is that not an exaggeration?  Not only that, but your complaint made it sound like you were talking about people in general, which is clearly not true so calm down.  And competing portables?  You mean the PS Vita?  What other portable is there?  Why pluralize it?

And your last paragraph is also exaggerating saying that this is not the 90's.  Not even home consoles had voice chat in the 90's.  The fact that you're denying that you are exaggerating just proves the hard bias you have.
