Forums - Gaming - For those NOT getting a next gen system at launch...?

Already got a Wii U at launch. Have no plans to buy a PS4 really, even though I want The Last Guardian, I wanted it to come out for PS3 like it was supposed to.

Me at least two years down the road a PS4 I´m still happy with my PS3, have a big(and I mean big) backlog so no hurries here.
All the kinks of the initial model get ironed out and maybe a price drop is in order by then.

When do I plan to get a next-gen console?

When I have enough money to buy one. :D

I'm not hardcore anymore to eat only cup noodles for a couple of months like I did when I was saving for a GameCube. lol!

Xbox One when Halo 5 comes out,Ps4 never,WiiU Im really thinking about it but not until after I have bought a XB1.

Besides, he wanted to play Beautiful Katamari, and I wanted to play The Last of Us. It had to be done.

I never heard of this game. Do you like it? I'm assuming you have/are playing it.

Pretty cool and relaxing game, but you have to play it in short burst or else you'll get burned of it pretty fast.

When do you plan on getting a next gen system and for what reason. A certain game? Price? Demand? etc. Oh, and attack me if you will, I'm including Wii U in the mix :)

For me: (Most Likely)

PS4- Around Second Son, February 2014.

One- As soon as it open up again, either online, or in store. Or when demand dies down, ASAP.

Wii U- Already Have One.

How about you all?

Lock if re-posted.

PC = Better than yours, guarantee

Wii U = already have.

PS4 = Had one pre-ordered and paid off, canceled it because I saw no games I really wanted off the bat that I would not already have for my PC or the Wii U,
so I canceled the PS4, bought a second Wii U for the kids, lol. I will get one when there are more things to get for it that belong on it, maybe when its cheaper, especially since there is no backwards compatibility.

I will be getting a PS4... probably depending on my financial situation and the games that come out. Probably around FFXV or if the Shenmue 3 rumor proves to be true. Actually, its gonna depend alot on wich other games get announced. My rule of thumb is that the system needs to have 3 games i want before i buy it. At the moment... 1 might be (FFXV), another isnt coming out anytime soon (KH3) and theres no third yet!

The Xbox1 i wont be getting for at least another 3-4 years, cause i need microsoft to prove me that they arent just gonna go on "dont care" mode after getting their core customers. Its likely i wont buy one at all though, as i kind of had my fill with Microsoft's policies.

Wii U... hmmm... i wouldnt mind another price cut, but will only consider when X and the new zelda are closer to release. Still need one more game that would make me take the plunge (maybe SMT vs FE).

Haha... atm the PS3 is still the best system to have. ^^

I'm also going with Ps4+Infamous most likely.
Or when I'm finished with my 9001 unfinished games on Ps3..

Take my love, take my land..

For the 8th gen I have two systems right now;

3DS - Got it the day Ocarina of Time 3D was released, got it solely for that game. A Zelda game alone to me is worth the price of the whole system. Luckily the 3DS shaped up to be one of the most awesome systems yet.
WiiU - First system I got on launch-day since the N64 because I wanted to try out the GamePad and thought NintendoLand looked very promising. Wasn't disappointed, but it's taken a while before anything else worthwhile got released.

For the 8th gen systems I haven't gotten yet, I won't be getting any of them at launch, and they're all still up in the air if I'll get one at all. I'm not liking where this generation is going policy-wise and with 'unfriendly' stuff like game installs, HDD requirements and the online/social focus.

PS4 - Won't get it at launch because there's no games that interest me. The power difference between 7th gen and 8th gen is negligable to me, and the system doesn't have any interesting new feature. A new Uncharted recently got announced so that greatly improves the chance of me getting one sometime. Still needs more.
XBox One - Same reasons as the PS4. Probably never get it, especially if I do get a PS4.
PSVita - Interested in the hardware, but there's still no games that interest me. There's only Uncharted, which is not enough. If the system gets at least two more games I really want to have, I'll consider it. Sadly, with each passing year it doesn't seem to be the case that'll ever happen. So unless I can get one for next to nothing I'll probably never get this.

Sometime late next year in prep for the next Dragon Age.

Hmm, pie.
