Forums - Gaming - Who cares about launch title reviews?

I'm getting the PS4 day one and I wasn't even planning on getting KZ OR Knack.

I'm looking forward to playing BF4 day one, over everything else.

And because KZ didn't score a 99 overall on Meta means it's a "FLOP!"? Hell no, thousands, even millions will still buy the game.

The launch titles DON'T define anything, other than they are launch titles. Who said KZ:SF was going to be the greatest game ever made? Who even thought Knack looked that good anyways?

Plus how can M$ come out and say that on twitter when Ryse and DR3 (a game that will struggles with 30FPS on 720p) will most likely get mediocre scores like Knack and KZ:SF.

Bottom line, the general population will not base their decisions off of Meta scores for LAUNCH titles.. On both systems. KZ:SF could have gotten a 0/100, and I still would have bought a PS4.

I do care about them, but as long as the game is playable and it doesn't have issues (Ex. frame rate issues, crashing) I'm good.

Just want to say that "flopping" is a result of the game not meeting its hype. Im sure KZ wasn't hyped to be a 70's meta. Not knocking the game, just saying the definition of flop.

This thread just tells people very openly that you are insecure. Launch titles will score less then expected on both sides. We have to try and be mature about it.

But to answer your question, those who are on the fence may take the metas as their guide, like it or not.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

I do care. KZSF score was determining if i was going to buy a PS4 after christmas or not. Besides that i already thought the launch lineup looked horrible so im not really surprised about the others. Killzone def caught me off guard though as i really wanted it to do well.

My guess is...a fair number of people.

Oh please. I am not insecure about it, I'm simply tired of reading about it.

Show me some real numbers before you start making stuff up. Show me the ACTUAL percentage of people who base their purchases off of metascore on one game.

People are tired of resolution threads yet we have been reading about those for weeks.

This has only been going on for about 10hours.

So which is worst?

I've never bought a console for launch titles...then again I've never bought a console at launch :P lol.  Ill get a PS4 when FFXV, KH3, or MGS V come out.

Because the internet is filled with dumb people who don't shut up about things. Trust me I'm just as tired of hearing about it, but only brought that up in my thread because M$ (like Sony) doesn't really have MUCH to show for when it comes to launch title exclusives. That's why there's more pre-orders for the multi-plat games. I'm teling you right now, Ryse and DR3 won't score that high.

How can they make the best exclusive games ever as a launch title? When is the last time a console actually launched with A+++ titles?

That is to be determined.  Though I dont expect DR3 to do all that well i could very much see Ryse going either way 80+ or 80-.

And that you are correct about.  But i dont believe there has been any console hyped the same way PS4 has in the last year so this will effect a lot of people.  Not to mention Sony hasnt exactly announced much games yet.  Think about that, Sony's next game is DriveClub and Infamous I believe which is 4 months a way.

That is why i believe people are taking this as huge news.
