Forums - Sony - PS4 Preorders Opened in Brazil (Ethomaz's Life Decisions)

I thought they said the price was expensive due to high taxation, But the XOne which is 100$ above it, have like half the price in there. 2200 to 4000
It's just nonsense given that PS4s are produced in Brazil. Can someone explain why ? My Mind = Blown

You should go for an Xbox One, better price for better overall offering imo!
Just trying to help here.

Beat me to it!

Why would an xbox one be cheaper?

Apparently it is in Brazil.

Wow.........so I guess all the markets the ps4 is available to i direct releases brazl isn't one? or ...................man I don't have any clue why the price would be that high direct release or not............It's amazing he managed to be a gamer...........

Even the PS2 didn't get an official release in Brazil until 2009, hell, the Mega Drive was relatively popular there well into the 2000's if I'm not mistaken. Do what you gotta do.

Don't do it Ethomaz wait for some "grey market" local dealer even if the dealer charges you 700 dollars is still way below official prices.

Do you have friends abroad? Get a PS4 through Amazon US or UK or whatever sent to a friend and have the friend send it to you by traditional post. Claim that there's kitchen tools inside and voila.

Well since yesterday the Sony Brasil started to get preorder for the PS4 console here in my country.

Price: R$ 3,999

I have a big double right now... buy it in Brazil or import it.

First I won't pay the real launch price because the company I work have a deal with Sony so the price showed to me is:

R$ 3,699

But that's yet so expensive...

There are other retail selling the console with 10% off if paid without credit card subdivision... paying with direct bank slip.

R$ 3,599

http://www.submarino.com.br/produto/116661370/console-playstation-4-500gb-importado

But I have some deals with this site and it own credit cars (that give more discounts).

So if I get reach a price below R$3500? Can I buy it here in Brazil? I'm getting crazy right now.

I'm planning on robbing a bank or a Sony warehouse (by the PS4 price, the inventory probably is more worth than the reserves on our Central Bank =] )

Now on all seriouness... when my wife bought my PS3 in Canada in 2009 she bought with an extended warranty (1+2years) and it was with global coverage (take it to a authorized service center, and send them the service order to approval... after that repair and pick up, even the 3 fault clause was valid)... hadn't have any issues with mine up to now, but you may try it just to be sure with a launch console.

Xbone is said to be produced here while PS4 is imported... but even so WiiU on Nintendo BR even imported... so Sony is still owning an explanation about 1500,00 of extra charge.

Cool... I need just to pay the delivery to use the warranty from outside? I'm afraid because it will be a launch hardware... I'm sure the issues will be way less after the first revision.

I can import from US for something close to R$1,500 but I'm afraid of issues... if I buy here I'm covered by the warranty... if I import not.

I understand you perfectly. Still my suggestion is wait before importing, the first batch usually have a higher than normal defect rate, it can be as high as 10% in the first 2 months, after that everything settles down and it comes to a more normal 1-3%. Importing during a launch is a bad choice, I know it from experience. Import it on January when the market and hype settles down a little, is not like the launch titles will dissapear from the market and looking at the reviews those may even come down in price pretty fast after christmas.

Haven't tried buying from outside country... but since in store bestbuy accepted my amex (and I think in internet they also accept) maybe you can buy with extended warrant and deliver to a Postal Box or directly to Brazil, would need to check...

Amazon you can't buy like that with a Brazilian Credit Card (before they took no order and wouldn't deliver off shore), but now they accept  to deliver on Brazil and even charge you for all the import taxes so its totally legal and you wouldn't have to care about customs... you may contact their customer support and confirm informations regarding the warrant policy and coverage...

Don´t do it man, import. Or, buy at a import store.

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.
