Forums - Sony - Killzone Shadow Fall metacritic FLOP CONFIRMED: 73 on 17 reviews

lmao, most of these reviews keep harping on about the singleplayer. How many people who are really excited about KZ:SF care about the singleplayer? What a joke. I've been playing KZ2 MP since it released in Feb '09....best MP FPS ever made IMO. Can't wait to finally retire it tomorrow when my ps4 comes. Got KZ:SF today.

Me actually, I don't play multiplayer but love the single player campaigns in KZ2, 3 and Merc. Hated KZ1 though. Shockingly bad game. To think it was reviewed as the "Halo Killer" by OPS2M etc. LOL!

Since when has a 73 meant a flop? in my books that means the game is pretty good, not a master piece but can be very enjoyable. Also ive seen many mixed reviews with some sites giving it 8,8 or 8, which means great in my books...however i know to some, if a game doesnt get a 9 then its shit.

Im not a shooter guy but i would buy Shadow fall over battlefield and COD anyday.

I think gamers reply to much on reviews and quite frankly...its sad...I've played many underrated games that score high and low and i love them. Dont be sheep and make your own decision.

So it's really more of an 83 if you take away the stupid reasons for down rating a game.

Flopping is seperate from ones own personal view of quality. 70's games are fantastic IMO. But in this case people predicted mostly a 80's meta.

So it flopped. Big deal. Has nothing at all to do with quality.

Unless you tell us that Sony fans lowered the bar on KZ meta predictions, it is considered a flop. I predicted a 80's score personally.

Since when did "flop" ever refer to critical acclaim?

If it fails to crack a million sales, it'll be a flop based on expectations.

Flop can refer to review estimates just as much as sales......

Words have the capacity to have more then one purpose in a sentence or interpretation.

Case in point.....the game isn't out yet. Soooooo logically, when you read the word flop, the people are obviously referring to the meta flop, as the sales are non-existant.

Well I averaged now with the 20 scores and it should be 76 (76.1) not 74. Maybe there is some kind latency between the reviewers scores and the final averaged score?

11 reviews >= 80
9 reviews
The game generally receives great reviews.

Meta give stonger weighting to some reviewers than others. So it's not an absolute average.

I'm sure it's going to be a fine game and I can't wait to get stuck into it. Mercenary was clearly a prelude for what is to come with Shadow Fall. Roll on 2 weeks time! :D

No, it doesn't have to do with quality. It's about sales. A product flops if it doesn't meet SALES expectations. You have that word as you nickname, yet you don't even get that... ¬_¬

flop

 verb ˈfläp

: to fall, lie, or sit down in a sudden, awkward, or relaxed way

: to fail completely

: to swing or move in a loose, awkward, or uncontrolled way

I don't see how a game can have failed completely based on just critics reviews. It will have failed completely if it doesn't meet sales expectations. ¬_¬

Yes it does, if people choose it to. You do not decide how people use words and words can have the capacity to have more then one use in a sentence.

The thread title says the word flop. People in the thread are using that word. Sales are non-existant at the moment. What does that tell you? That everybody saying it is wrong? Who are you to tell me the dictionary is static and new words/meanings aren't added and changed as time goes by?

What righteous stance do you have that comes to the defense of not a IP, brand or corporation.....but the use of a word in the dictionary?

Please, tell me.

Oh right. "Let's use that word since it helps the negativity I want to spread about the PS brand. Let's redefine the way words are used to fit the agenda."

The thread title says the word flop. People do all kind of things, you know? Do you condone them all, even when it's wrong or when things are misused?

Seriously, the things you come up with sometimes.

But since you're asking, am I not allowed to disagree with your usage of the word "flop" for reasons I already stated?
