Since when was a 70 a flop?

For AAA games a 70 is pretty low hence why people consider it a "flop".

Still has time to get higher though, there's only 18 reviews...

Really I am dissapointed about this.  The multiplayer still sounds good so there is that to look forward to.  Whenever I end up getting the PS4 in the future I will probably still get Shawow Fall.

Taking the safe route and riding off competitors mistakes is arguable that it isn't earned but just winning by default :P

I can't stress the term "arguable" enough here.

8 GB of GDDR5 was a huge risk actually and riding off competitors's mistakes was almost the sole reason 360 sold as much as it did today

Given how PS3 is cheaper yet slightly more powerful, I wouldn't say thats a risk at all......just a run-of-the-mill design choice.

Ugh...what? PS3 was the most powerfull and the most expensive console since CDi... It most certanly wasn't cheap.

We're 7 years into its lifecycle and it didnt even hit 199 yet

Well i agree and disagree with some points you guys are exchanging, but as a resident Brit I can confirm there wasn't fuck all bundled with the PS1 here either, Dualshock controllers didn't even come with the system in EU until around late 1998.

Thank you, sir. My guess is that he will ignore your post.

Ignore it?

Why would i do that? only takes a simple look around the www to see bundles all over the place.

STRYKIE, perhaps bundling was not too common very early on in the ps1's life, but it became common place after a while. (and in the UK yes)

Were they actual Sony endorsed bundles though? Or just packages thrown together by retailers? I mean, yeah, I personally never took the time to study SKUs of a system I already had back then lol, but I assure you those "bundles" or people that had the game because it bundled when they bought the system account for <1% total sales of the game. Tekken in particular was huge back then and one of the biggest advocates behind the decline of the arcade scene with console exclusive game modes.

I doubt it would've been much different on any other system, they just happened to be ported to the PS1 because Namco's arcade boards more or less used the same architecture.

2 more reviews added. a 70, and a 90.

thats a REAL average of 76%   not the weird secret formula they use.  and its 77.5  if you ignore gies

I am Torgo, I take care of the place while the master is away.

Unless you tell us that Sony fans lowered the bar on KZ meta predictions, it is considered a flop. I predicted a 80's score personally.

Now that doesn't mean anything in itself. FPS/KZ fans are still going to love this game. Flopping is a creation of ourselves, a bar set by the people, not Sony or its developers. To my knowledge, the bar was set as a 80's game, with some cautiously optomistic for a low 90's score like KZ2.

Sometimes the fans are spot on, sometimes they overshoot it. It happens.

Xbox: Best hardware, Game Pass best value, best BC, more 1st party genres and multiplayer titles.

Killzone average score is 77.6 without the money hatted polygon review. While it is not nearly as good as many of us were hoping for most of the reviews suggest the game is quite good.

Pros
Graphics
OWL
Gunplay
Multiplayer
Open World freedom

Cons
Too hard
wonky controls in free fall
A few too many puzzles
First person platforming
Story not coherent

Graphics, Gunplay, Multiplayer that is why you buy an FPS and KZ seems to have that in spades.

Since when did "flop" ever refer to critical acclaim?

If it fails to crack a million sales, it'll be a flop based on expectations.

You could be supporting the claim but you were still putting forward the wrong reason. Not unexpected from you though.

What? Why getting personal now? Man, some users here... At least I gave a reason, you didn't.

No, you made an assumption. That's not the same as a reason. The reason why KZ:SF will sell great is because it looks like a great game.

lmao, most of these reviews keep harping on about the singleplayer. How many people who are really excited about KZ:SF care about the singleplayer? What a joke. I've been playing KZ2 MP since it released in Feb '09....best MP FPS ever made IMO. Can't wait to finally retire it tomorrow when my ps4 comes. Got KZ:SF today.
