Well i agree and disagree with some points you guys are exchanging, but as a resident Brit I can confirm there wasn't fuck all bundled with the PS1 here either, Dualshock controllers didn't even come with the system in EU until around late 1998.

Thank you, sir. My guess is that he will ignore your post.

Ignore it?

Why would i do that? only takes a simple look around the www to see bundles all over the place.

STRYKIE, perhaps bundling was not too common very early on in the ps1's life, but it became common place after a while. (and in the UK yes)

it will sell oceans anyway

The series never sold more than 2 million per game.

More like "cry me a river"-sales

Actually both KZ 2 and 3 sold over 2 million units.

Sony didn't boast about PSASBR either yet, we know it sold 1M units.

Also, as usual, you're making up numbers - $10? This link below shows $41.99 3 and a half month after the game was released in the US:

http://www.ign.com/boards/threads/spreading-the-love-ii-motorstorm-apocalypse.204857622/

Also, Motorstorm continued after Apocalypse so...

PSASBR sold over 1 million after a few months... yet they quickly cut ties with the developer. Once again, the figure given was shipped not sold.

I didn't say it was $10 dollars shortly after launch. I said its $10 now. Hence, it flopped at launch and it didn't become a sleeper hit because nobody gives a crap about Motorstorm.

Yeah, Motorstorm has continued... Sony has done some huge things with that franchise since Apocalypse. HUGE!

Yes exactly. If you average without the Microsoft funded Polygon score it goes around 77. My guess of 80 will maybe be reached.

And the game does have a good story, good level design, good non-linear levels for JeuxVideo.com 9/10 score.

Polygon are a joke. they score Sony important games consistently 2 points lower than the others reviewers. Hopefully metacritic will notice it and lower their value in the metacritic score.

Yes. And both had a larger install base and better scores, afair.

I always wonder why people put so much thoughts into metacritic. The mere thought that you can reduce the quality of a game into a single number and compare all genres on different gaming systems based on this value... that feels so stupid to be honest. That is simply impossible and deep inside most people will know this.

So, a certain game may get a 10/10... but what if you simply don't like the genre. What if you don't like online gaming or the sandbox approach? There are people that have much more fun with a game like Katamari Damacy than with GTA V... In the end reviews are not much more than simple opinions.

And since some reviews are from free online sites that have to survive on advertising revenue alone I highly question their use for the common gamer. It would not surprise me much if some reviews were simply bought or distorted.

Ok, so bundles with official ps1/gran turisno/tekken etc boxes are not about.

But you could walk in to gamestation and places like blockbuster and easily find bundles.

I can't speak for other countries, not like i went out of my way in 1995 to check that sort of stuff out.
