Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I am playing a cracked Japanese Smash. Any questions people want answered?

I may be wrong about Link, but I will say he is completely different. He seems A LOT slower though. I played a very non-conventional Link but one that many people considered to be a very effective playstyle.

I haven't tried online yet because the game is hacked, lol. Communication with the internet is bad.

I have only spent a total of about two hours with the game, so I am just giving my first impressions as they come.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Waht about samus.

I still want to know if there are any other cool color swaps aside from dark link, yeti DK, or classic Wario.

@ sc94597

I have not tried Samus and have not seen any of my roomates try out Samus yet, so I have no idea.

^i used to main link too but I gave up because of his bad recovery

Well this might help. If you don't get KO'd off the side of the stage, you're almost guaranteed to make it back to the stage as Link if you play your recovery right. Of course this applies to almost every character now besides the slowest/heaviest. The game plays a bit differently than you would be used to in Melee, so you should be sure to check out all the characters. They all play differently because of the new gravity and gameplay system.

Is Link a crazy strong tank now or has the new boomerang added a lot to his playstyle?  I am curious to see how one SHOULD play the new Link, because my experience, albeit a short one, was very unpleasant.  Almost like playing Pikachu in Melee after using him in the original.

Well I never have any luck pulling in enemies with the boomerang, but I do use it. I use the arrows, boomerang, and bombs when my opponents aren't in my face. When they get close I'll attack with my sword. Really it's just all about your timing, skill, and what moves you use. It's hard to explain ...

EDIT: Well here's a general basis. There are some characters like Fox where you want to run around and jump at your opponent and go crazy. Don't do that with Link. You don't want to be agressive all the time with him, you want to wait for your opponent to make a move, and then respond to that.

I normally just use my projectiles a lot so people are forced to move closer to me, and then I react accordingly.

can u play online with the cracked version

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!

bet with *no one yet* that the combined first week of Monster Hunter 3 in america and europe will be 600k or more! winner changes looser sig and avatar for two months!

Judging by the videos I've seen, it appears that, as Wfz says, Link has just changed style. Instead of being a version of marth, they made him a long-ranger defensive guy, which IMO is more correct.

That video makes it look like Toon Link, is really the old link. He is more mid-air based, has weaker range attacks, and is fast enough to go berserker.

This guy, should have used Toon Link, he uses the wrong play-style for TP link.

Here he starts out great. Uses ranged to make Marth have to make the first move. When Marth comes close, Link dodges and attacks. I think this is how he should do it.

That is VGChartz LONGEST review. And it's NOT Cute Kitten DS

Toon link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D1KZFEPnZx0

This guy is fast, and is good for storming in.

His category is more fox/Falco/Wolf, while normal Link is more Pit, I believe.
