The more competition the better, yet I'm really surprised Sony would allow a competitor to it's own PSN shop on Playstation systems.

I mean, if I understand that right, that it's pretty much a separate PSN store on amazon, I can't fucking believe my own eyes 0_o

Why in hell would Sony do this? That's amazing for the consumers but Sony just made competition on their own playground :D

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

if anyone knows this please answer!!

i live in europe and game prices have risen to basically double of the 60 dollars you americans pay.
the ps3 is region free on disc based titles but how about if you would buy digital titles from this store.. would it theoretically work even though it is a code that needs to be redeemed?

if so this would allow me to get double the amount of games through the entire generation without increasing my entertainment budget.. :D!

In the past Amazon only accepted payments from US customers for digital content.

And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

I don't think Sony cares what amazon does with the prices as long as they get their usual share.

I'm sure that Sony is working with Amazon on this as a cooperative effort.  Most likely so Sony can boost digital sales while not pissing off the retail store as much.
I'd be shocked if they end up with deals on anything good with porices as good as Steam though.

Stop hating and start playing.

But wouldn't they get less share now? I mean, we have a new party now, someone needs to make less money. Sony was a monopolist, and since you still need a PlayStation device to play games that you buy, it could have stayed that way and you had to buy from Sony's PSN store.

Less share but AMAZON knows how to advertise games/deals very well.  In the end more games will be sold, AMAZON happy with the the extra income, Sony get less share but in total more for the game without AMAZON and gamers are happy because they get more games for less money with all those deals =p.

Amazon already sold digital PSN content. I don't think much has changed they just have a store now and are able to use promotions to encuorage customers to buy several games at once.

Amazon's share, most likely, will be tiny.  They typically don't make much money per purchase and that will probably be even more the case here.  Instead, they will try to make money with volume and with associated purchases.  That's where Amazon's profit comes from, customers going for one thing and buying three things.

I'm very pleased with this.  Yay for wishlists.  Now they just need to let us "borrow" one game a month with Prime like they do with books!

Wait so will full retail games be getting nice discounts? I'm very interested to see how this works.
