Your #44 has got to be GTA: Vice City.

#43: Resident Evil 5 (PS3)

Resident Evil 5 received mixed reactions from gamers, maybe because it's not as good as its predecessor or maybe because of the co-op AI can sometimes seem a bit suicidal. I personally loved the game, it's action packed, tense, features one of my favorite vilain (Wesker) and one of the all-time sexiest protagonist in a video game (I'm talking about Chris Redfield here of course not Sheva). I played through this game twice, once by myself and the other time with my brother and I've gotta say that playing co-op really adds to the experience, first of all you now have a  competent ally and saving your partner from a horde of zombies is much more satisfying when he right next to you screaming for help. Resident Evil 5 also features the really excellent Mercenaries mode which gets your heart pounding even faster than the regular game as you run at enemies trying to keep your streak alive.

#42 Hint: For this sequel they had you fight all fictional characters maybe that decision was made because the real-life star of the previous game was eventually arrested for rape.

My #44 is an RPG based off of a license that had already been around for over two decades at the time of the game's release.

Baldur's Gate? I think it came out 24 years after Dungeons and Dragons.

Nope, but you're not very far off.

Planescape Torment?

That's further away.

Knights of the Old Republic?

Hint for #42:

How to regenerate a series: add in a whole load of destruction.
How to kill that series: shove it underground.

(This is the game that regenerated it, of course).

Sounds like Red Faction: Guerrilla.

Exactly right

Punch-Out?

Another Phoenix Wright game?

Wrong.

43. Donkey Kong Country 3

Funny, charming and beautiful. A big overworld map to explore at will and the classical charm of the DKC games. What's not to love?

And the sequel is called?

I honestly had no idea there was an SNES sequel.

Super Punch Out!
