'SimTower'
for the Macintosh personal computer released in 1994.
'SimTower', one of the earlier 'Sim'-games. Like my #49 entry, 'SimTower' was an extremely addicting game to me. This was the very first game I played on a personal computer (so, not my very first game, but the first on a PC), a Macintosh. A Performa 630 from 1995 to be precise. The computer and the game are still in my possession, and to keep that old Macintosh from dying, I boot it up and play this game every once in a while. You see, old computers like that can die if they're deactivated for a long time because they include a rechargable battery that the computer uses to power up.
The game itself would actually still be quite addicting, if you're into the 'city-building' genre. Because that's what you're doing, except it all plays out in a tower. From the foundation, to condos, to office space, to hotel rooms, to sky lobbies, to a shopping mall and leisure facilities, to even waste disposal, parking garages, a metro-station underground and a cathedral on top, the player has to manage it all.
That last thing is the ultimate goal of the game, a goal that can take a while to reach. Beginning with a simple '1-Star' tower you must expand your building, earn money and deal with different crises (there's even terrorist threats) to reach that '5-Star' rating to be able to build that cathedral on the 100th floor. A feat I've only been able to reach once!

This extremely well known game is usually enjoyed by all. Until the most notorious character in gaming appears to ruin the mood.
