Well what I mean is that every game thus far in my list are what I consider to be amazing games. But with titles like Bioshock and Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and every title moving forward... these are the games that have really shaped me as a gamer. Just reminiscing about them as I type on about them really gives me dem feels.

Oh okay.  I get what you mean.  My number one is like that.  When talking to people about it, I go into detail because of how much I like the game.  But that's because of how amazing it is.  I've played through it hundreds of times, but was going to replay the game and write a review of it in a new thread.   Link that thread as the description in this thread.

34 - Four Sword Adventures (One of the most expensive games to play in full)

This game will always have a place in my gaming life. While, I've never played it multi-player I have still enoyed it very much. This game just captured me, it's the best looking 2D Zelda and has kickass gameplay mechanics that has partially appeared in PH and ST. The switching around of characters really added to some puzzles and they stumped me for most of the time. And as a mediocre puzzle fanatic, I'm glad that I was challenged this way, I'm also glad that SS challenged me in the same way. What more can I say? This game is an excellent game overall and would have been higher if I got to play the multiplayer. This game just doesn't have any big flaws for me, the only thing pulling it back is my favoring of other games.

'Banjo-Kazooie'

for the Nintendo 64 released in 1998.

The first entry in my top 50 list for the console I still think is the best console ever made, is 'Banjo-Kazooie'. A 3D platformer like there were a lot of during the 5th Generation. However, 'Banjo-Kazooie' was one which had it's one identity and went on to become one of the famous ones. Though it probably forever stands in the shadow of another even more famous 3D platformer of the time, a second place is definitely nothing to sneeze at.

As non-linear as a game can get, the player gets thrown into a large world with numerous different levels each accessable in the order the way the player wants to. The objective is to get all the Jiggsaw-puzzle pieces hidden, and they're hidden well, in those levels to be able to unlock the lair of the witch Gruntilda who has kidnapped Banjo's sister because she is more beautiful then Gruntilda. Which is not a hard accomplishment of course.

Together with Banjo is the bird Kazooie, who's able to perform special abilities like flying to help Banjo reach those Jiggsaw-puzzles. The large variety of gameplay mechanics make for an amazingly diverse and original level-design which never gets boring. In fact, back in the day, I was convinced that this game was Nintendo's own, simply because it's quality could challenge that of Nintendo's games. Sadly, as we all know that wasn't exactly the case, but I still hope somewhere, someone will wake up and make a sequel to the original Banjo games.

#32 Hint

The intro cinematic of this game, even before the main menu, shows a lot of references to other popular series and franchises. There's even a cameo of a character of this, sadly defunct, developer's other game!

This sounds like it could be a Pokemon game,

Or maybe something like Final Fantasy VII, but then I've no idea where Saphire and Ax would come in

The Weapon that gets shot in a cutscene in FFVII is the Sapphire Weapon.

All of them except ax are jewels in Final Fantasy IX too.

Shadow of the Colossus (PS2/2005) Guessed by FOX

I bought by PS2 around 2008 and started stocking up on cheap, highly-rated titles. I picked up Ratchet & Clank, Jak and Daxter, GTA, Devil May Cry, and this mystery title called Shadow of the Colossus. Critics seemed to love it and it was less than $20. Little did I know that five year later, I would have fallen in love with Colossus and Ico, and become one of the biggest cheerleaders for The Last Guardian. Shadow of the Colossus is quite unlike any other game I've played. It consists entirely of boss fights. It might have become tedious, but the developers at Team Ico managed to pace the game perfectly, so the fights are spread out evenly, and managed to design the colossi so well that each battle is a game in itself. As with Ico, SOTC is heavy with atmosphere and mood and light on direct storytelling and dialogue. And it's all the better for it. This is a game that's better felt than heard.
