#44 - One of the most expensive games on eBay, more expensive then Earthbound. It's similar to MegaMan

I think this one came to me just now...

Is it... Little Samson?

(if so, that is one hell of a rare game to have)

No, but the game is similar in price.

Okay it's a SNES game, developed by a Western Studio, Published by a Japanese studio. The Western Studio is owned by a movie company, and the Japanese Studio is fairly big now, but back then they were average sized.

#39 - This game never localized, despite strong sales from this newly localized franchise. Because of this, the next game in the series is often given credit for introducing new features (like creating a character after yourself) despite this game being the one to do so.

Fire Emblem: New Mystery of the Emblem?

Bingo, on the first guess too. Yep in NMotE you can play on Casual difficulty (which lets people who have died come back to life) and make a character in your name. I remember watching reviews which gave Awakening credit for introducing this, but it didn't. Great Fire Emblem game, sucks that it didn't localize.

I find the Djinn system to be a close relative to FFVI's Esper system, but I see where you're coming from with the Pokemon comparison.

When you have all the Djinn, the game can be easily won through decent strategic planning (and patience). No late-game grind required. No early-game grind required, either, come to think of it. Beating the game with low-level characters is quite doable. Heck, if there wasn't so much text, I'd feel compelled to do all-djinn speedruns of Golden Sun.

I love TLA as well (so challenging and rewarding, with an arguably better soundtrack), but I didn't love Dark Dawn. It isn't bad, but I consider it to be the weakest entry. I was probably disappointed at how easy it was compared to TLA. :/

Yea, I didn't have to grind either, but that's what I loved about the game. Getting all the Dijin, and just completing the story made the difficulty perfect IMO.

I''ve heard similar things about Dark Dawn, I played it for an hour, but it didn't immediately suck me in like the first 2 did. I've held off playing it ever since I predicted a 3DS XL system to be in the works, I want to play these games with a bigger screen.

I'm still behind

#45 - An underappreciated fighter published by Sony. This game is super fun because you can impale people with stuff you break.

#44 - One of the most expensive games on eBay, more expensive then Earthbound. It's similar to MegaMan

45 - It seems nobody else knows PS1 fighters and I only know their names so... Tobal no. 1, Bushido Blade or Bloody Roar. With my luck it won't be any of them.

44 - Wild guess: Metal Slug.

45 - It's a PS2 Fighter :-O I guess my clue wasn't very good, so how about this. Not one playable character is human.

44 - It's a SNES game, I gave more hints, I'll repost my clues in a sec.

#44 - One of the most expensive games on eBay, more expensive then Earthbound. It's similar to MegaMan X, and it's also a SNES game. Developed by a Western Studio (which is known for big budget movies), published by a Japanese one (which wasn't a big studio until the PS1 era).

#38 - One of the only games where they managed to make a proper 4th installment on a trilogy that ended very conclusively. I.i. it's the 4th game in a trilogy

#37 - This game received some praise for mocking other well established franchises but critisizm for a lack of originality. Had a very challenging post game challenge mode, which took me 2 days to finish, but it was damn satisfying. IMO this game defines fast paced action games.

#36 - One of the major characters in this game, was not seen in a sequel, but might be re-introduced in the next game in the series. This game is often considered the best in the franchise by most of the hardcore fans.

#35 Was an exclusive, then it was no longer exclusive, but then a special edition made this an exclusive again. A terrible design choice in the sequel killed all hype for this franchise.

#34 In my opinion, this is the last good handheld game from this Nintendo franchise, and it's not even developed by Nintendo. Newer installments have taking a different direction with art style, and actually branches of the overall plot.

35. Metroid Fusion (27)

I forgot about this game the last time I made this list and didn't remember about it until the 3ds ambassador program popped up.  This turned out to be my favorite Metroid game for the environment you get to traverse.  Most of the items are different properties of beam weapons or types of movement.  All of these control very well and add variety to how you progress through areas and battle enemies.  The story is a good addition to the Metroid lore and fits in well with the choice of environment.  This game was more linear than Super Metroid but I felt like it was better for it.  The new suit, lost all your powers, deal is a little stale, but provides an excellent way to add in new items at a pace that works well for people learning how to play.

Primarily an RPG player but have interest in any game that will make me think.

Hint for 34: This ARPG from developers with a famous pedigree has a cover system, a pair of mobile island fortresses with giant cannons, and an alien seed slowly killing the planet it once saved.

Super Mario Galaxy?

Brought Mario back to it's roots, away from the crazy FLUDD Sunshine game.

Down to Earth - pun on planets in game.
