what are they saying?
I just read the article. It says that Super Smash Brothers is losing its legs pretty quickly and the attach rate for the Wii's market (aka casuals) is low compared to the attach rate of Xbox360/PS3, since "core" gamers invest more money into videogames than "casuals."
I disagree with the Super Smash Brothers part, but you can't sell 1.5 million copies of Smash Brothers every week and at that ponit, the only way you can go is down, so I guess its somewhat true.
Essentially, GAF got upset that VGChartz was mentioned in the same article as NPD. Also, that VGChartz was stated as being a team of analysts.
They then proceeded to bash VGChartz left and right, stating that uncharted is way off here, based on months old NPD data.

anyways, as much as I hate how they used the info, congrats for getting cited in the NY Times.
Gametrailers used us (more specifically, TheSource) in an article on GTA IV.
http://www.gametrailers.com/viewnews.php?id=5860
"Pre-launch searches for "Grand Theft Auto 4/IV" overtook those for Halo 3 by 22 percent, which historically equals greater sales, says Hitwise. Further corroborating the findings is a new estimate by VG Chartz released today, which reports that Grand Theft Auto IV sold an impressive 4.2 million worldwide copies on Tuesday."
Pretty cool
