Forums - Microsoft - The big problem with Day 1 updates?

If the update it´s on a non Sony console it´s the end of the world.
Otherwise, if it´s on a Sony console it´s the best thing in life.

Nope, I'd almost say the opposite, almost.  Sony vs Microsoft consoles, I would say the opposite.  A lot of people complain about ps3 updates, but I don't think I've ever seen any one complain about Xbox 360 updates.

Well that´s true.

Because it speaks of problems that they should have hammered out in the final stages of the development, which again speaks of other, possible problems with OS, loading, installs, hardware etc.
I think the main reason why people don't like this is all too obvious if you look back at the 360's launch.

For me it doesn't matter though, I never buy consoles in their first year on the market, this is one of the reasons.

But we already know the reason for the update, to reverse the DRM.

While that is the case here, that's not the point. What does that tell us? They made a massive design mistake. People don't want to jump into a project that starts off this way. Why did they decide to have those crazy DRM measures in their concept to begin with? It's kind of the same as the mandatory day one patch for the Wii U, not a terribly good way to start.
